The room was not as shown in the listing. It was much smaller with very little room to maneuver around the bed. The balcony was a terrace which was largely taken up by the base of a metal staircase for guests to access the next floor from the outside of the hotel. The room was not well cared for, with the fridge beside the bed instead of under the desk, the bedside table on the other side of the bed askew. The fridge was noisy during the night. Soap and shampoo packages were provided but seemed to have been tossed in a heap on a shelf in the bathroom. Some issues with cleanliness. The attendant at reception was not concerned about the issues raised and was overall not welcoming or attentive. Sadly we did not enjoy our stay. Cannot recommend.

We were sent over to their sister hotel because of renovations and was delightfully surprised with the staff food and all around service. San Giovanni Palace Hotel was an excellent experience and recommend. The staff at front desk are amazing people

Excellent stay in the hotel

Location of the hotel is very good since it’s only a walking distance to the church of Padre Pio. It is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is good although it is the same variety everyday. The lady who is in charge of the buffet is very helpful and friendly. She always have a welcoming smile while inquiring what hot beverages we would like along with our breakfast. The lady in the reception was also very helpful especially when we inquire about setting the safe in our room, she immediately visited us and offered help.

The staff at the Ariae Hotel are fantastic! They are attentive and dedicated to ensuring travelers have a enjoyable stay at the hotel. We had a couple of requests which the front desk staff went above and beyond to fulfill. I did not eat dinner at the restaurant, but the breakfast was good w / a variety of items which should appeal to various tastes.I didn't encounter any hot food items - typical European breakfast items fruit, pastry, cheese, etc. San Giovanni Rotondo is a small town and most visitors are there to see the Padre Pio shrine which is w/in short walking distance up a slightly steep hill. The rooms are clean and generally spacious, except the bathroom. Overall, a great hotel w/ a great staff. I will definitely stay there again when I return to SGR.
