What a place! We loved it. Juan and Mari are perfect hosts. From meeting you in the local village to take you to the villa, helping with the suitcases and being on hand for any questions, nothing was too much. Although Juan’s grappa was a bit lively! The villa is beautiful, full of charm and character and has everything you need. The views are incredible. Especially nice at the end of the day with a glass of Prosecco whilst the kids play in the pool, it was a perfect stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great location

A very nice house, great location, nice view. Sadly I injured myself 2 hours after my arrival as a beach chair leg dropped and I hit my back on a bar, ended up going to the hospital the next day. The host was very attentive ( even bringing me to the clinic himself, they then transferred me by ambulance as I couldn’t walk on my own). The fact that I was bedridden for the whole week really diminished my appreciation of the place but it’s a fluke accident that could happen to anyone. As for the house itself, it’s a bit outdated and no A/C so it did get pretty hot and the kitchen equipment could definitely be upgraded. All in all, I would still recommend the place for its location and I m certain if I would of been able to enjoy the pool it would of been much more comfortable. The one thing I didn’t understand nor appreciate is having to dispose of toilet paper in a garbage beside the toilet, that’s just gross. Who builds a toilet with such small pipes you can’t flush toilet paper ??? Very nice and friendly hosts, no physical address, so do keep a near location to find the place back after the hosts meet you in the city and show you where it is, I recommend the dog hospice. Definitely NOT a place for someone with mobility issues

Great house, location and host

We ( 2 families with kids age 10-11-12-13) stayed for a week. Excellent house with good location to explore the area as well as spend some easy time at the house. Pool was given the thumbs up by the kids. House is well set up for having drinks & dinner at the house, enjoying the nice views. Juan is a very helpful host. We can recommend it.

A piece of heaven!

What a wonderful location for this villa, we couldnt recommend enough. Beautiful views across mountain and sea landscape and a lovely quiet spot on top of the hill above a really lovely village with everything you need for your day to day supplies. Loads of points of interest within a short travelling distance. And by no means least, Juan was an incredible host, so accommodating , helpful and friendly which made for such a comfortable stay.This really made the trip special and we cant wait to return again. and

A magical retreat in Sardinia

The house was a really special part of our trip. Our group was two families with kids aged 5-8 years old. The grounds and property are truly magical, with plenty of room to explore. You feel absolutely separated from everything, but at the same time only a less than 10 minute drive to the small village of Rena Majore and just under 20 minutes to Santa Teresa. We loved the beach in Rena Majore, which was far less crowded than others we visited. One thing to note is the house definitely is more on the rustic side. Bedding, linens, other accommodations are not at all "luxury" but if this doesn't bother you, you will be very happy. The house was impeccably clean, with lots of comfortable places to relax. And we spent so much time outside. The pool is a lovely retreat. Juan and Mari set the bar very high for hosts. They live in a cottage on the property and were readily available to help with anything, but also give you complete privacy. And the tiramisu that Mari made for us was incredible. My family is still talking about it two weeks later.

Our Sardinia stay

Myself and my young family had a truly lovely stay at Juan and Mari’s beautiful house The location was was fantastic, like something out of the flinstines or Hanoi,surrounded by huge boulders and open sky. Amazing! It was abut in the fresh side so we did not get. Chance to capitalise on pool but when we did pluck up the courage to swim it was ace A lovely pool in quite corner with lots of sun Lou fees to warmup in after the dip! Juan and Mari were super kind, attentive, and helpful. They made our stay super easy and welcomed us in wonderfully We would love to come again soon. It was a brilliant trip. Thank you!

Lovely relaxing villa

Juan and mari have a lovely property. Very helpful. Only downfall is no air con and pool separated from house. A bit over priced in comparison to other villas we stayed in for same price as air con is definitely needed in summer.

Lovely rustic house

We had such a great time at the house. Although it is up in the hills it is so easy to get around to nearby towns. The local village is only 5 mins away by car and has a great little shopping centre and pizzeria. The beaches are to die for. The house was very clean, totally peaceful and looked over the sea. It also had a lovely spotless pool. It is a rustic house and we appreciated the fans Juan provided as it was so hot when we visited. Juan is just the kindest guy and shared so much useful information with us. We are definitely returning.

Amazing house - amazing host

We had a great time at this house. Juan the host is great - he literally tends to your every request including great sightseeing options, amazing restaurant selections - organized taxi with mid day bag drop off, free wine and fruits. The house has everything you need and is very clean and is in a great location. The mountain and sea views are even better than the pictures. I will come back again.

Amazing location and great house

We were two families with young kids and this property was perfect for us. The only issue was that we didn’t have long enough there. The house is great, the grounds and location amazing but by far the best is the hospitality provided by Juan. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend this property.

Could not ask for a better stay

Oh my heavens, this property was more than we could have imagined. Situated in a rustic location at the top of a hill, we had beautiful ocean views, a completely private pool and, effectively, our own private granite mountain. But the house was not even close to the best part. Our hosts, Juan & Mari, were incredible. We had read great things from some of the previous reviews (have a look for yourself below) but were not expecting the level of hospitality they took care of us with. They met our group with homemade Sardinian treats, helped to book us local, hidden gem restaurants, and gave us so many insider tips on where to go, what to see, and when to do it. The absolute "cherry on top" of our fantastic trip to Sardinia was a boat trip around the smaller islands in which Juan not only helped us source a boat, but also drove the boat for the entire day so we could celebrate our holiday. I can't wait to return to this property in the future.

Fantastic Villa Fantastic Host

We had an amazing time in this fantastic place. House was very clean and just as described. Pool was down a short flight of steps. There is masses of space all around the property with a wonderful granite "hill" just behind the property. Views of the sea from the terrace and a short (10-15 mins) drive to the nearest large shop, 5 mins to the local shop. Possibly the best feature was the amazing Juan who essentially made it feel like you were staying a a friends place. We'd love to go back and would certainly recommend visiting this property. Book it before someone else does.

Perfect stay surrounded by nature

Superb and absolutely quiet place with huge and nicely maintained natural garden with rocks and great sea view, offering absolute privacy. Nice and warm country house without excessive luxury but offering everything that's needed. Juan is an extraordinary supportive owner, staying close in the neighbor house and always ready to provide help and advice that really make a difference. Definitely a place and people I'd once return to stay again.

Perfect Stay in Paradise

Let's just start with the property: the pictures don't really do this beautiful villa justice. It is simple yet comfortable and set in a beautiful location on high ground with an amazing view of the sea and surrounding area from the patio. The pool was immaculate and exactly what you want after a day at the beach. There is a market close by with pretty much everything that you need and it is a quick drive (~10 mins) into the main town Santa Teresa where you can find bigger grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The location is really ideal for exploring the northern part of the island and there are MANY gorgeous beaches within 10 to 15 minutes from the house. You should explore the island but you really don't have to go far from the house to enjoy some of Sardinia's most beautiful beaches. Now let's talk about the hosts, Juan and Mari. I would usually say that the best hosts are the ones that you never see while on holiday but in this case, I can only say that Juan and Mari made our trip 10 times better than it would have been if they were not a part of it. While being 100% respectful of our privacy, Juan and Mari were always available when we needed them. They even prepared a delicious meal for us which consisted of wild boar (which Juan hunted on the property) cooked in sauce for 2 days with homemade ravioli. Delicious! And paired with a bottle of homemade Cannonau wine! A skilled navigator, Juan also very graciously took our family out for 2 incredible excursions on boats that we rented. Juan arranged everything and provided us with the highlight days of our trip. Overall, I cannot say enough about this magical place and our hosts. We will certainly return and I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Oasis!

Our family with three children spent two weeks in Villa Ruju this June. The place was basic in a nice way, and like a peaceful oasis with beautiful surroundings. Simultaneously, it was close to all amenities and activities you could wish for. It was also a perfect base for small excursions to the rest of northern Sardinia as well as Corsica. And not to forget the nutrition which was excellent... The owners were very supportive and friendly, and altogether it was for us a holiday with very happy memories.

Was für ein wunderbarer Ort zum Entspannen und Geniessen!Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und haben die Ruhe, den Weitblick, den Sonnenplatz am Pool, das große Grundstück mit auch seinen wunderschönen schattigen Plätzchen Anfang Juli 2025 wunderbar geniessen können.Juan und Marika waren liebevolle und gesprächsbereite Gastgeber, bei denen man immer wieder gern einkehren möchte.Vielen Dank für eure Gastfreundschaft!

Traumhaft

Die Unterkunft ist ein wirkliches Paradies.Juan holte uns am Parkplatz im Ort Rena Majore ab und fuhr mit uns in die Unterkunft. Das letzte Stück zur Unterkunft muss man sehr langsam fahren, da viele Bodenwellen und Schlaglöcher vorhanden sind.Die Unterkunft ist traumhaft schön. Juan und seine Frau Mary sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.Im Ort Rena Majore gibt es einen kleinen Supermercato, eine Pizzaria und eine Bar.

Wie Urlaub im eigenen Häuschen

Wir sind mit zwei Familien, mit je zwei Kindern im Alter von 4 und 8 Jahren angereist. Die Räumlichkeiten waren alle einwandfrei sauber und der Gastgeber war überaus freundlich und überdurchschnittlich hilfsbereit. Er spricht hervorragend deutsch und ist immer sehr freundlich. Das Haus bietet eine gute Aufteilung für je zwei Familien mit je zwei Kindern. Das große, eingezäunte Grundstück ermöglicht den Kindern auch alleine außerhalb zu spielen. Die Küche war sehr modern und ausreichend ausgestattet. Die zwei Bäder waren zwar klein, aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Die Terrasse mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht auf das Meer haben wir sehr genossen. Zwei kleine Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten hätten wir... das Internet ist Abends zeitweise ausgefallen und der Pool ist Ende Mai leider noch etwas kalt gewesen. Trotzdem haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Häusschen mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen.

Nicht zuletzt durch die persönliche Mitwirkung des Eigentümers Juan und die Größe des riesigen naturbelassenen Grundstücks, ein Eldorado für unsere vier Enkel, war der Urlaub perfekt.
