Beautiful Old Farmhouse With English Country Gardens & Pool. 6 bedrooms 6 baths.

Sa Serra Mitjana, Villa, old farmhouse.
Set in the heart of the south/east Mallorcan countryside just outside the quiet village of Calonge' (which has two great restaurants), yet only two miles from the beaches and nightlife of Cala d'Or. Here you will find a haven of peace and tranquillity. Five bedrooms with five ensuite bathrooms,6 with the Apartment which is included. Private swimming pool, magnificent gardens set in 5 acres of private estate. Sweep through the electric gates and up the drive to "Se Serra Mitjana", a lovingly restored, vine covered finca, a 200 year old manor house extensively modernised for todays discriminating traveller. Enter through the old oak rustic double front doors into the large lounge which opens up onto the gardens. TV, DVD, satellite TV are provided, a stereo CD is piped thru the downstairs rooms. The outside dining patio is covered/shaded with a grape vine which hangs heavy with fruit in the summer months. In the grounds you will discover almond and lemond groves, pepper and bay leaf trees and a dovecote.
We have WiFi, central heating and air conditioning in most rooms. We also have our own well, meaning plenty of water when Mallorca is in a drought.

We are just minutes away from the village with it's farmers bars, the bakery, boutique shops and nice restaurants. A big supermarket is on the corner as you enter Cala d'Or.
This South East side of Mallorca abounds in lovely coves and beaches. It is the prettiest part of a beautiful island. The island roads have all been upgraded and are wonderful for driving or cycling on. Please note the lovingly restored brick walls along the roads and fields which have all been hand built by the farmers or craftsmen. Each stone hand laid, very labour intensive.
All our bedrooms have their own bathrooms.
We have 5 bedrooms in the Main House and a separate apartment adjoining the house which has it’s own front patio and entrance.
This can open up to the Terrace and BBQ area and gardens. It has a Living Room with kitchen included. This room has two settees, tv and dining table. There are chairs outside on the Patio. The bedroom is air conditioned and has a double bed with bedside wall lamps, hanging locker and a large chest of drawers. A nice shower and wc adjoins the room.

Cala d’Or Marina is at the bottom of our lane, about a mile away. Wonderful restaurants encircle the harbour along with nice bars and the Yacht Club. You do not have to be a Member to go in for a drink on the Terrace or enjoy lunch or dinner there. Restaurant Botavara is highly recommended for Sea Food and Mallorcan meat dishes of lamb shoulder or roast suckling pig.

One of the best restaurants this side of the island, is right in our local village of Calonge called Bona Taula (Good Table).
It is just up our lane, across from the church, the doorway next to Bar Telefono.
Unpretentious, you go through the bar and out into the garden of Tomeu’s mother’s old house for a wonderful dinner, cooked by local ladies or Javier on the wood burning grill. Roast half duck, peppered and served with pear and baked potatoes and a grilled tomato is my favorite. Suckling Pig is the best as is Duck Breast or Half Rabbit from the Grill.

We had an amazing experience at the finca. The property manager, Marianella, was amazing and invaluable, even in the middle of the night; she was there to answer and help us. The pool is big and clean, and the kids spend most of their time by the pool. The garden is very beautiful and well looked after. Cala Dor is an authentic Majorcan location, just an 8-minute drive from the villa.Definitely will return to this place again.Thank you, John and Marianella.

Wonderful property with exceptional gardens

Se Serra Mitjana is a lovely place to stay. The house is spacious but maintains a cosy atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and opens onto a verandah which is great for eating on. The gardens are speculator and provide plenty of areas for relaxing. The local village, Calonge, is lovely and only a short walk away. We would absolutely recommend this property

Perfect for the big family

A great Family Vacation

The perfect place for a family with kids and Grandchildren. Close to Cala d‘Or and other nice places. Close to a couple beaches. The property is huge. The garden is wonderful and the pool is great for swimming and chilling. The rooms are big and the badrooms are mostly new done. The kitchen is a little old, but has everything you need. It has a big fridge and freezer. We loved it.

La casa muy cĂłmoda y una piscina de tamaño perfecto. Barbacoa muy buena. El mayor problema, las hormigas, que estaban en todas partes. Muy buen servicio de soporte, ya que nos cambiaron el lavavajillas (que estaba roto) y fumigaron la casa (aunque volvieron las hormigas a los dos dĂ­as). Se nota una poco de falta de mantenimiento al ser antigua, pero aĂșn asĂ­, muy contentos!

Fantastic farmhouse and location

We had a wonderful week with 3 generations of family to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. The farmhouse was very comfortable and location was perfect. We were very grateful for the aircon as the temperature got up to 37 degrees. However the white plastic garden furniture is in urgent need of replacement several dining chairs were broken and some sun loungers were lethal one collapsed as my 3 month pregnant daughter in law lay on it. The dishwasher was on its last legs. I understand that somewhere that accommodates 12 people is going to have a lot of wear and tear but these faults need to be addressed before someone gets hurt. I mentioned it to Marionella and she said she must do something about it. That said we had a fabulous holiday.

A wonderful finca - even better than the photos suggest!

A spacious house and gardens with plenty of all-together areas as well as secluded spots for some quiet reading or sunbathing. A fabulous pool, large and well-equipped kitchen (plus a second fridge and chest freezer in the utility room); comfortable bedrooms all with en-suites and a handy self-contained yet integrated annex. Location is nice and quiet, only a few minutes from the local town of Calonge and a 7-min drive to Cala D’Or. Clean, well-maintained and homely, it was a brilliant place for our large, 3-generation family holiday - we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful farmhouse .

Was on holiday with my children and granchildren from age 1 to 65. We have never had such a wonderful holiday. This villa has absoloutely beautiful gardens and between that and the pool it made our holiday. We hardly ever went jnto Cala dor or the beach as none of us wanted to leave the gardens. I would reccomend this place and hopefully we will be able to return next year.

Fantastic!

We had a wonderful time! We celebrated our 40 years wedding anniversary with our kids and two grandchilds. The house has a lot of space and has everything you need! the garden is really breathtaking. Swimming pool was also clean and nice. The only thing we would recommend is to change the mattresses and to stabilize the beds. Especially the one in the appartement. Another negative point was the presence of cockroaches! The beach and village are nice; you do need a car. It is too far to walk. We invited a personal cook and had a wine tasting in the beautiful garden!

Recommend for big groups

After two years trying we finally get the trip and visited this beautiful villa. The house is lovely and there is enough place for 13 people. Location is also great so you can walk to the village Calonge and you have plenty of restaurants and activities in Cala d'or. Although we had a very nice week in Se Serra Mitjana we have a few complains: the pool wasn't clean when we arrived but it was cleaned after we mentioned it. Also the air conditioning didn't work in every room. Because the villa is old and at the country side you have to accept the ants and the mouses. The weirdest thing was that even we kept the gate and the doors closed someone outsider visited in the house and steals from us new clothes, hats, backpack and other little belongings. We reported the burglar to the police/ civil guardia. Otherwise we had a really good time.
