"Amazing buffet for dinner and breakfast. We hadn’t ordered the half board in advance, but paid for the dinner buffet on site and it was well worth it. One of the best buffets we’ve seen in Japan so far, and it included a great selection of alcoholic drinks!"

"Overall pretty good resort that is unfortunately showing its age. Our room was rather small for a family style room (comparatively to other ryokans we stayed at for a similar price point) but very clean. Beautiful location but very remote if you don’t have a car. Shuttles to and from Inawashiro station made it easy to take day trips to other areas. Most of the resort’s amenities were also not open during our stay too. The resort supposedly has multiple restaurants but only two were open while we were there. The outdoor onsen is quite nice as well."
