Peaceful Two Weeks

This is the real Sicily, how we imagined my husband’s grandparents living. The villa is secluded and private; the view and grounds are worth the price of admission. The accommodations are as pictured, modern and rustic. We really were not expecting to have the entire pool to ourselves. The patio is huge and entirely covered so it can be enjoyed regardless of weather. We made good use of the outdoor charcoal grill. The local property manager and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming. We managed to communicate with Google translate. Scicli itself is a charming village with excellent restaurants, bakeries, food shops, etc. It gets touristy on weekends so you’ll want to take advantage of quieter week days to explore the village and its interesting history.

Schöne Außenanlagen - innen keine WohlfĂŒhlatmosphĂ€re

Wir verbrachten unseren Urlaub mit drei kleinen Kindern in dem Haus. Die Außenanlage fanden wir sehr schön angelegt, wenn man den ein oder anderen MĂŒll dort noch aufrĂ€umt, wĂ€re sie noch schöner. Uns war nicht bewusst, dass es sich auf dem GelĂ€nde um ein Haus mit zwei Schlafzimmern und einem extra HĂ€uschen mit einem weiteren Schlafzimmer handelt. Wir konnten das weitere HĂ€uschen nicht wirklich nutzen als Schlafmöglichkeit. Die KĂŒche war nicht optimal ausgestattet und wir saßen 10 Tage auf Plastimöbeln. - fĂŒr den teuren Preis hĂ€tten wir mehr Komfort erwartet.Der Kontakt zu den Besitzern war sehr nett und wohlwollend.Insgesamt finde ich das Haus zu treuer fĂŒr die Leistung, die man bekommt.

Beautiful villa, great location.

The villa was perfect for us - a family of 4 adults and 2 kids (age 3 and 5). We stayed with our little ones in the main house, with two comfortable double rooms, two shower rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities (essential for us), and a good-sized living room. Grandma and Grandad stayed in the little house by the pool, which was ideal for them. The outside space was the best bit - a big patio area with a large outdoor table, a charcoal grill, some shade, and a lovely pool with views over the coast and the sea. The garden has a swing and slide for the children, beautiful trees and flowers, and the kids enjoyed spotting lizards, wild cats and kittens. Angelo and Concetta looked after us very well when we couldn’t get the gate open, and when the hot water wasn’t working - they were quick to come and help, and kindly gave us some delicious biscotti too. There was plenty of parking space. The location is great, as long as you have a car - just 10 minutes from beautiful Scicli, with its variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, museums and galleries. The historical centre is stunning - deserving of its heritage status. We were also well-located to travel to Ragusa and Syracuse for day trips, and enjoyed a couple of brilliant local beaches (Sampieri being our favourite). Overall, this is a lovely villa, perfect for our family, in a great location, with friendly, helpful hosts. I’m sure we’ll visit again!

Beautiful place, lovely hosts and great villa

Thank for Angelo and family for your help and hospitality. What a lovely house and pool. We drove all the way from the UK and it as such a relaxing week after our road trip the week before. The beaches, towns and countrywide in this part of Sicily are a joy to explore.

Schöner RĂŒckzugsort

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, vorallem die Ruhe und die schönen SonnenuntergĂ€nge. Die Sitzmöbel im Außenbereich sind leider etwas "verlebt" so das wir ein Update dieser empfehlen wĂŒrden. Hervorheben möchten wir aber die sehr lieben Gastgeber, welche sich sehr um uns bemĂŒht haben. Vielen Dank.

Family vacation at Villa la Mia Sicilia

We are a family of five (two adults and three kids between 4-10 yrs) and stayed at the villa for two weeks in June 2022. During the first week additional family members (two adults and one child) also stayed at the villa (using the small annex building) and the second week one additional family member (adult) visited us at the villa for a few days. The villa was surrounded by a lovely green garden offering well-needed places for shade and housed a great sized swimming pool. The terrace had a magnificent ocean view. Inside was very clean on our arrival and the hosts left some small breakfast treats such as buns, fruit and juice which was nice since we arrived late. The main house has air condition on the bottom floor and the there is also aircon in the two bedrooms upstairs. The Annex has a fan which worked well for temperatures in June (might be too hot in July/Aug). The villa was a great oasis for our stay in south Siciliy, with convenient driving distance to places such as all beaches/towns along the south coast, and cultural cities such as Ragusa and Scicli which were great to visit during the evening. We also visited Syracuse and Marzamemi. There are well-equipped supermarkets within a few minutes drive. We can highly recommend this villa - very friendly owners/property manager (Angelo) and also Daniel who was linked to the villa for additional service (brought us nice Sicilian wines, cheese etc) and was also able to arrange other services such as menu cooked by chef at the villa, boat tours etc (which we did not have time to try). Always quick to reply to questions - and Angelo was very attentive to see to our needs and kept the pool area nicely clean during our stay! Angelo and Daniel also stopped by to ask how we were doing and brought some nice treats! A great place to visit with family for a mix of relaxed days at the pool and different excursions around the area!
