"The area was beautiful and peaceful and very calming. The onsen felt realy nice and rejuvenating after our snowboarding crash course. They also had dryers in the hotels for snowboards and boots and where more than happy to turn it on for us."

"Very nice staff and comfortable room. Has everything you need. My favourite part was the bathroom. Very traditional Japanese bathing vibes including stool, bucket, and a small tub for you to soak in after cleaning. Perfect on a cold winter night. "

"Highlight was definitely the onsen. This is the best onsen I have ever used in any area of Japan. It's huge, there are so many different options for baths, and the women's open air bath was so beautiful and picturesque in the middle of winter, right next to a snow covered mountain. It was spotless clean and they provide so many amenities. We stayed in a Japanese style room and it was lovely. The different wings weren't actually as spread out as it seemed so nothing was too far away. Buffet dinner and breakfast were great, lots of variety and lots of vegetarian options which I was worried about! Hands down the best spot for Jigokudani and the boardwalk and park trails (most of the trails were closed for winter though). An easy short stroll to the valley and in the other direction cute souvenir shops. Definitely recommend :)"

"The onsen was the best I’ve ever been in. The outdoor “wood spas” with about 10 different minerals and essential oils was absolutely fantastic. My only gripe is that the half board meals are identical day to day. I only stayed 2 days, so I’m not sure how frequently the food items change. I will say the selection is giant. Because I’m used to places that change the food options daily.. I tried to eat through the whole buffet on the first day, trying little bits of everything. Had I realized it didn’t change, I would have just had larger portions of some items and tried other stuff the next day. "
