The unit was not even close to the pictures online. It had been redecorated to a terrible Mardi Gras theme. Mirrors over the beds with nasty hand prints on them. Plastic coins glued to the ceiling. A neon sign in the living room. Feathers on the walls. It was not ready when we arrived at 4:00. Cleaning lady was there until 5:00. The dishwasher was still full of dirty dishes, floors not cleaned, towels still in the dryer, etc and then she left. Later that night er noticed that the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors had been removed - wires hanging from the ceilings in both units. The kitchen sink was broken and water poured out in the floor when it was used, there were 2 extra rolls of toilet paper for 4 bathrooms, no trash bags, fish towels, hand soap, and the dispensers pictured online in the showers had been removed. I contacted the host and he said he would be over in the morning with suppliers and repairs. Never showed up. A maintenance man came at 6pm, just as we were leaving for the evening reinstall the smoke detectors. Said he didnât know anything about anything else. I contacted VRBO several times and sent pictures. We bought our own toilet paper, trash bags and washed dishes in a bathroom sink using bath cloths and towels. Host offered cleaning fee refund. Then refused to do it. VRBO had to refund it. Stay away from Synergy Rentals!
We had a work team meeting for 3 days at this location. The building was nice and clean and worked great for the number of people we had. The location was also close to the STL Cardinals stadium and ballpark village which worked good. The only issue was that during an entire day and night of our stay the power was completely shut off due to new power poles and power lines being run throughout the entire neighborhood. There were trucks, generators, and other heavy equipment being ran until 4am the night when they were working. We asked the power crew leaders and they said all residents were notified multiple times months in advance about them working in this neighborhood at this time and that the power would be out completely until they got everything replaced. We were not able to have part of our meeting due to no power or internet or anything while they were working. We asked Dan, the owner of the VRBO, about the power outage and he just apologized and said that he had not received any notification of the planned power outage. He still charged us the full price for our stay which we thought was a little ridiculous that he did not do anything to compensate for an entire day of our stay not having any power at all and not being able to sleep at the location. Overall our stay was good and the location worked well for us besides not having power or sleep for an entire day and night.
We were excited to go to STL as we love the shopping and sports entertainment. So we booked the place with the idea that we would have a larger home where we had room to relax and entertain all in the same home. When we arrived we quickly were surprised that there were two separate apts. I quickly communicated with the host about my concern and he responded with it was in the listing it was not. Most of the doors were locked with key pad. Which we had to message the host for access. The Host controls the a/c so it can get hot in the upstairs room. I we communicated with the host that we only used on apt and would expect that he would adjust the room rate, the host stated that he couldnât due to our time had already started. I would not recommend renting from this host.
If you choose to stay at this property be aware that the bottom and top floors do not have a/c. On the main floor in one of the rooms the ceiling fan only works if you have the light on. None of the windows open, which is understandable for an older property, but without ac and a breeze some rooms were unable to be used. We were a large group of 12. Our flight did not leave St. Louis until 10:30 pm on our last day. The owner graciously offered to let us stay in the downstairs unit until we needed to leave for our flight for a small fee. HOWEVER, around 2 pm on the day of checkout the cleaning crew arrived and said we needed to leave. The owner then said we never confirmed the late stay even though the communication and confirmation are in the VRBO texts. He said be we didnât pay the extra fee. He had my cc and had yet to charge for the balance. He wanted us to move to another unit that was a 10 minute ride away. The cleaning crew apologized profusely and said this was not the first time this has happened with this owner. On the flip side, the area is wonderful and full of great places to eat. The units have been remodeled beautifully. Just know what you are getting into before you book. Oh, and then a couple of days later he charged my card the extra fee :/
The accommodations were very nice, clean and comfortable. Parking was a bit difficult for a bus. (had to park down the street)
Enjoyed the court yard.
Not far from downtown. Easy drive for sure.
Nice restaurants just down the street.
Highly recommended
