We'll be happy to have you in our little slice of heaven!
This house met our needs of a place to stay that was close to the Red River Gorge hiking areas. The bed and couch were comfortable. It is definitely not fancy. The most inconvenient thing was the lighting in the bathroom. You had to reach through a set of shelves to find the switch for the light above the shower. The light over the sink had to be plugged in every time you needed it.
Good communication and 20 minutes from Red River Gorge. ButâŠ. Place was janky. Couldnât find light switches for bathroom although they had left 2 lights on. Walls of bathroom did not go to ceiling and toilet was too close to wall that you almost hit head when using. Toilet also rocked back and forth. Flooring was shoddy. Ceiling had water stains and areas that were water damaged. Smelled of mildew like a basement. Dehumidifier ran constantly. Shower and sink I think were clean but there was discoloration on both that Iâm not really sure. Inside frig clean but not handle or outside. Really needed a major remodel. Chair at dining table ripped. Yard was newly mowed but clumps of grass everywhere. Animal poop in yard around home - possibly cat that hung around and also got inside home a few times and Iâm allergic. There was a small creek behind the house with chairs. I did enjoy sitting listening to water however trash in creek took away from experience. This place really needs an overhaul Homes around it are not well taken care of either.
The marketing photographer deserves kudos for capturing the property in a manner that makes the place look decent. It is a dolled-up, 2 room shop with a petitioned off toilet in the kitchen and a couch in the bedroom. The bathroom consists of two walls that do not reach the ceiling, a toilet, sink, and shower, framed with waferboard. The air conditioning is a tiny window unit sealed with expansion foam, and is barely adequate if left on constantly. The creek beside the building is cute, but overshadowed by the scrap pile on the other side, and the vehicle parked on the edge of the property in plane view. The neighbor had an extremely late visitor who lost control of his vehicle, and nearly struck my truck. Had I seen an accurate view of the property, I would not have spent over three hundred dollars for two nights. I would have continued looking for a decent place to stay for that price.
This place was the best little get away.... Very cute and very clean....There were some things that I had to address, but it was a really nice stay for me and my Penny. I will definitely book this little quaint getaway again
This cottage was such a great place to come back to after a long day of hiking and exploring Red River Gorge. Super cute in & outside with a beautiful landscape. We also had visits from a local cat every morning and night and he was so extremely sweet and made the trip all the more better.
This cabin was okay to say the least. It definitely could have been a lot nicer if more effort was put into it. We didnât love how close the toilet was to the wall, the bed, or some bugs that seemed to get in. We needed a place to stay and sleep and it met those needs. Although I wouldnât call this cabin comfortable and cozy.
My partner and I stayed here for 5 days. Itâs small, but it worked for our needs. Weâre climbers who spent most of our time outside so this was mainly a morning and evening hang out spot for us. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and the shower had great water pressure. The only downside was the propane heater - it heated the space well, but theyâre not built to run consistently so we had to keep it off at night during some near freezing temps. Nothing a few extra sleeping layers couldnât solve though.
