Spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed. The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had dinner and breakfast here and both were exceptional. We did not explore the surrounding area.
Perfect getaway with lovely big room, very comfy bed and great shower. Really nice furniture and fittings and quiet for a good night's sleep. Everything was spotless.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food at a reasonable price.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend.
Well signposted and so very easy to find! Very friendly welcome, comfortable, cosy bar and pretty decent food.
Our room was large with a huge bed and the only negative was the condensation on the inside of the windows.
Most amazing stay at this Community Owned pub and and inn. The room was lovely and we enjoyed our evening in the pub with the locals, learning the history of the area. Food was fantastic, fire was cozy and it was fun watching the football match with them. Charming and wonderful. thank you!
rural setting, chosen because it is 30-40 minutes from Loch Lomand, Stirling, and Glasgow. Pictured an inn with grounds to wander on, wide open spaces. Just the opposite-tiny space with no grounds, no parking, just a couple of picnic tables outside. Very little contact moving in. No offered help in figuring out where and how to park, no offered help in lugging luggage up narrow stairs to the third floor. Room with queen so tiny a suitcase could not be opened, even on the floor. Barely room to walk around the bed itself. Bath tiny, but adequate with shower. Food good on site. A one night stay at the most. We made the mistake of booking three
Stayed for a wedding, all the staff were amazing, (especially Jack and his cocktails), really friendly, very helpful and the place just had such an overall chill community vibe. Would stay again. Room was MASSIVE, cosy and really clean.Food was amazing too!
Loved everything about this hotel, the room (so comfortable), the shower, the restaurant (we were here twice and the food was amazing) the people. Excellent place to stay. Will definitely come back!
Accueil trĂšs sympathique autant pour lâhotel que le restaurant. Petit hĂŽtel-restaurant-pub charmant, bien ecossais ! Dans la deco et l'ambiance. Tout le confort et le calme. Parking. Petit dejeuner typique et copieux. Le tout dans un joli petit village !
Un excellent souvenir !
it was a very unique property as part of the property was owned by the town people who had gotten together to save the property from foreclosure and built an amazingly large gourmet restaurant for the whole town to enjoy
Classic rooms above the restaurant and pub. Rooms were upstairs as to be expected and small but Great en-suite bath. Dinner was fantastic as was breakfast.
The old inn was reborn as a community-driven hotel. Youâll meet volunteers and wonderful and kind staff. Breakfast is ordered the day before - choose a time and just show up. Restaurant was perfect for dinner - tasty and wholesome dishes at low prices. The bar also sells cocktails, wine and beer at very low prices. We stayed in one of two rooms on the top floor. Comfortable and very clean. But with just one very small window that opens thereâs no way to really get air through the room. After a bath or a warm day it gets very damp. Maybe the sky window could be replaced with one that opens?

A hidden gem! What an awesome place in a quiet super friendly town in a beautiful area of Scotland. We only stayed one night and regret not having time to stay a couple more nights. We spent 10 days touring Scotland, the staff at Black Bull were by far the most pleasant and accommodating. Chatting with local town folks in the pub was a memorable experience. Canât say enough good things about the experience. Highly recommend fitting a night at the Black Bull Gartmore into your vacation schedule. Steve - Canada
