Charmant petit hÎtel dans le centre de Stirling. Personnel agréable ! La chambre était grande et calme, et nous avons beaucoup apprécié la décoration. TrÚs bon petit déjeuner. Nous recommandons !

Parking was full until after 4:30 PM/Sunday free/pay rest of time. No staff on Sunday. May have been a glitch? A staff person called me to ask what time I was checking in to meet me to give me a key. Many restaurants nearby.

This stay was fine. We regretted not having access to WiFi, which is so important for travelers. Our room was accessed through a maze of complicated hallways and corridors, so it was tricky to get to with elderly travelers. My mother got lost at least twice. The room itself was lovely.

Property is not fit for human use. It is filthy. Carpets are threadbare and dirty. Shower had black mold. No facilities. No onsite parking. No toiletries. Many stairs. No afterhours reception. Key card was intermittent. Mattress was old and lumpy, offered zero support. Would not recommend.

Staff at check was unhelpful. We had trouble finding the room because there was no light in one of the hallways and stairs leading to our room. She did not tell us it was on the 3rd or 4th floor, she just said go to the end. I went down to her twice about the light and nothing had been done. Some nice gentlemen, not staff, helped us and two other women who were trying to find there room too. We were not told the front door to the bar closed early. We returned from dinner at 8 and the doors to the bar were locked. We had inadvertently left our key in the room and thought we could get another at reception. The emergency number had to be called and a nice women came shortly to let us in. The room itself is very nice but check in etc. was awful. Also be advised you may be climbing many winding stairs. We were on the top floor and beleive it was the 4th floor.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY - THE WORST In all my many years of travel this property and management proved to be the worst experience I have ever had. When raw sewage was back flowing into the shower and overflowing into the carpeting, management (Eleanor) refused to cancel/refund my reservation. I was told, at 3 pm, that the property handyman was called and IF he could solve the plumbing issue, we could still stay in the room. At 5pm a handyman had not arrived. No other rooms were available to switch to, no limit on how long attempts to resolve the situation would continue, and how the now wet carpet and foul stench would be addressed. Just expected to wait out the evening and hope things worked out. A picture here would be worth a thousand words, unfortunately a picture cannot be attached.

Advertised that the front desk opened at 12:00 pm We arrived at 1:30 pm and there was an iron gate across the entrance and no lights on The hotel sign was covered up and said only Bar We asked around an no one knew if they were still in business We eendd. Up going somewhere else and not sure if we will get our money back Emailed the property and got a snarky message back to say that they open at 2:00 pm plenty of time for a 3:00 pm check in They should not say that the desk opens at 12:00 on my confirmation if that is not true Really can’t recommend this place

The place needs a lot of work, the carpets were awful. The bathroom was updated which was the only thing we liked about the room as well as its central location!

Everything you need for a overnight in Stirling.

Friars Wynd Hotel had everything you need for an overnight in the city. It has a great location and easy to find. It was nice to be able to have a drink in the bar before heading out but it was completely empty & it is a shame that the bistro/restaurant part of the business doesn't appear to be in use. Especially considering how busy the pubs, restaurants and streets around the hotel was. The bed was comfy and the room we had was a good enough size with only two downsides. One is the bathroom, it is functional but very small - especially the shower and the hallway light remains on all night so the light comes in under the room door directly towards the bed. We would definitely consider staying here again though when coming back to Stirling.

The property is unique, the layout is something you have to learn, and lots of stairs and stair wells. The room and furniture were fine, but the bed was terrible, couldn't move with out it squeaking, and every uncomfortable. We had the worst sleep of our visit to see the UK. Had to get up early to put money into the parking meter, then the construction started next door. The location of the hotel is great, right on a cute street, had no issue finding a nice coffee and breakfast. So not all was bad, but as I write this a concrete saw has started cutting concrete🙄

Friars Wynd hotel was an incredibly unique boutique hotel on my 3 week UK road trip. Within this area parking is very limited, but there was a car park within 100 feet of my door. There is free parking after 5 PM I think? Until about 8am? Which was completely acceptable. The room was absolutely adorable and I had a wonderful soak in their very large clean tub after driving several hours. Check in was very simple with Harry in the pub, which is connected to the hotel. She was such a delight. I highly suggest spending a few minutes talking with her about the area. She also recommended an amazing dinner when I asked for a budget friendly pub. No. 2 Baker street was great!! Best steak pie ever! I was able to just leave my hotel room key in the room when I checked out. I thought there was an issue with the toilet flushing and Harry immediately & professionally had maintenance ready to come. However, there was no issue. It was just my lack of experience with older systems. The manager called her right back and told me just to literally hold it for a couple more seconds. The toiletries were fantastic and I loved the big soft towels!! Wonderful assortment of coffee, tea, and biscuits. (Cookies for Americans) I loved the entrance that led to a hallway directly to my unique ground. I felt very safe at the hotel and in the area! Thank you Harry

Great night’s sleep.

The beds were by far the best part of this stay. They were comfortable & the location was very quiet. It was a great night’s sleep. The check in was a little confusing, from the car park you have to wind your way through a maze of a building to find yourself in the bar that also serves as the check-in. The furniture & carpet was worn, but clean. No hair dryer or shampoo provided. We also were on the end of the building & were out of range of the internet & were only able to access it from the bar.
