First, the apartment was very nice. The kitchen and bathroom are well done. Opening the French doors in the morning to catch a breeze and view the lake and mountains from the bed was great. I would rate the apartment itself a 9There is no AC, which is no surprising, but we had a very hot week. A fan would have been nice.I had two issues though. Communication with the host was poor. They do not appear to read chats on the VRBO site. Phone calls to the number listen on VRBO got answers some time. Also, when I booked I specifically asked about stairs and was told there were just 6 to the apartment (the 'library'). Then they switched to the upstairs ('queen') apartment without asking. Between walking up hill -- on a street with no sidewalks -- walking up a steep, 2 story, driveway then walking up sn extra set of steps, my wife was struggling. Perhaps they assumed we would have a car, but more communication when I asked about steps and when they upgraded the booking would have been nice.
