One of the landmarks is the castle ?Castello Aragonese? in Le Castella, an ancient 15th century structure that stands on a small island connected to the coast only by a narrow strip of land. The medieval villages of Santa Severina, with their museums and historic houses, are also a popular destination. Diving enthusiasts can take advantage of the numerous underwater routes in the marine reserve to discover not only the beauty of nature, but also archaeological treasures. Inland is also the Sila National Park, a mountainous area with peaks up to 2000 meters high, rich in forests, lakes and wildlife.
