Casa Daniel is a brand new addition to the Surfside Subdivision. Every aspect of the property has been designed to facilitate spreading out, socializing and relaxing with friends and family in the wonderful climate of Playa Potrero. The décor is fresh and modern, and the interior spaces are tastefully furnished and equipped with all the amenities you need to feel at home.

Both units at Casa Daniel have the same configuration, each with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you need to cook a delicious meal, dining and living and areas. For your comfort, air conditioning units and fans have been installed throughout the house.

KITCHEN

Both units have fully stocked kitchens for preparing meals at home, and include:

• Invection stove and oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher
• Small appliances including coffee maker and blender
• Kitchen island and bar stools, perfect for breakfast or an additional prep area
• Utensils, plates and bowls, cookware

DINING AND LIVING SPACES

Both units have an open plan space incorporating a dining area with a table for 4 and a living space with sofa, coffee table and Smart TV.

BATHROOMS

Both units have 2 full bathrooms with toilets, copper vanities and walk-in rain showers. One of the bathrooms is an ensuite to the Master bedroom.

INTERNET

Casa Daniel provides high speed WiFi (325MBPS/15MBPS). This enables excellent capacity for streaming for entertainment, video calling and general Internet usage.

CLEANING AND COVID STANDARDS

The house is thoroughly cleaned between stays, paying particular attention to Covid requirements, and a maid service is provided once per week for longer stays. The pool is cleaned weekly.

SECURITY

Casa Daniel is secured by an 8-foot wall and a sliding gate that can be controlled remotely. Security cameras, motion sensor floodlights and an alarm system have been added to provide you with peace of mind.

Casa Daniel is centrally located in the Surfside Subdivision in Playa Potrero, a popular beach destination in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica just over an hour away from Liberia Airport.

The area is renowned for its calm waters, hospitable people, stunning sunsets, and family friendly beaches. While the area is growing, there is a refreshing absence of large resorts and no high rise buildings. If peaceful and serene is what you’re after, you’re looking in the right place!

Potrero is also one of the richest areas in Costa Rica for adventure activities. If you want to jump on an ATV and blast around the back roads and riverbeds, or whip through the rain forest canopies on zip lines there are several tour providers in the area. Or if you want a little less adrenalin, you can go horse riding on the beach, whale watching, climb a volcano, or take a guided walk tailor-made for animal and nature lovers. Kids are welcome everywhere and the local ticos love them.

If surfing is what you’re after, there are several highly rated surf breaks a short drive down the coast including Playa Grande, Tamarindo and Playa Avellanas.

Various quality eating options from Italian fine dining to traditional Costa Rican fare are all within walking distance of Casa Daniel along with lively bars and a local brewery. If you’re a foodie you’re in for a treat! The vibe is beach-casual everywhere.

If you prefer to be self-sufficient, there are several grocery stores close by, a fish market, fresh produce stands, a doctor’s clinic and pharmacy and various other conveniences. Meat alternatives are readily available and there is a good selection of liquor, wine and beer. If you want to avoid the effort of traveling far, you can literally get most of what you need locally. Freeing up your time for some serious R&R… imagine that!

The convenient location provides easy, 10-15 minute driving access to all the main beaches in the area including Playa Flamingo, Playa La Penca, Brasalito and Playa Azúcar. Don’t want to drive? Potrero beach is just an 8-minute walk from the front door where there is also a great sailing club that offers various water sports and activities, and equipment for rent.

In general, we recommend our guests rent a car. Potrero doesn’t have a good public transportation system yet and a car will vastly increase your options of beaches and places to visit. The drive from Liberia International airport is easy and takes an hour and a half or less.

Cars can be rented at the airport or locally in Playa Flamingo or Tamarindo (they will drop the car to you). Golf carts are also available for rent or if you wish or we can organize a shuttle or taxi service from and to the airport.

The Surfside Subdivision is a small grid of dirt roads and avenues, and Casa Daniel is located on Calle Mango. It is safe to walk on these roads but lighting in some areas is limited so it is wise to bring a headlamp or flashlight when walking at night.
