Casa Mango is a cozy and budget-friendly 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home located in the heart of Surfside, a walkable beach town in Potrero.



The Space:

This private duplex is perfect for families or small groups, with a fully walled backyard, a refreshing swimming pool, and air conditioning in every room. Plus, it’s just a six-minute walk to the calm waters of Playa Potrero.

Inside, Casa Mango has a relaxed, comfortable vibe, with simple but stylish furnishings and everything you need for a casual beach vacation. The main living area features a plush black sectional sofa, a flat-screen TV, and sliding doors that lead to the backyard pool and patio area.

The compact but well-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and a full set of cookware. Whether you’re prepping snacks between beach outings or cooking a full dinner at home, this space has you covered. The indoor dining table sits just off the kitchen, and there’s also a shaded outdoor table for poolside meals.

Upstairs, you’ll find three air-conditioned bedrooms: two with queen-sized beds and mounted TVs, and a third with two twin beds - perfect for kids or friends. The home also includes 2.5 bathrooms for added convenience, as well as an in-unit washer and dryer and a secure one-car garage.

The backyard is a standout feature of this home, with a private swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants and greenery. The space is fully enclosed and pet-friendly, making it great for kids or furry companions to play while you unwind with a drink and a good book.



Pet-friendly policy



We welcome your furry friends at our property! Before you book, each pet must be verified and approved based on breed and size (max 35 lbs.), accompanied by a recent photo. A refundable pet fee of $200 per stay, along with an additional cleaning fee of $50 + 13% per pet, is required to ensure our home remains pristine for all guests. We allow up to two pets per reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in public areas within the property grounds. Certain properties and complexes may have specific rules and registration requirements. Pets need to be verified at least 24 hours prior to check-in. If guests arrive at check-in with unverified pets, access to the property will be denied.



Owners are responsible for their pets’ behavior and any damages incurred. Pets should not be left unattended within the property. For any questions or further details about our pet policy, feel free to contact us!

The Neighborhood:

Surfside is a charming community on Playa Potrero where many expats live permanently (in particular Canadians and Italians), and where visitors can choose from a wide range of elegant vacation rentals, appetizing restaurants and lively bars.

Located between the towns of Potrero and Flamingo, Surfside is an eminently walkable village where the beach is never more than a few blocks away. Several tour offices offer a variety of adventures by land and sea, and real estate offices will be happy to show you your next home in paradise.

Attractions you won’t want to miss include the beachfront Sailing Center (restaurant, bar, pool and sailing packages); the popular Perlas restaurant (a high-end roadhouse/sports bar with big-screen TVs, live music, and great wings, burgers and pizzas); the Cervecería Independiente craft brewery between the two; and other local eateries including the Shack and the Beach House.

The lines are somewhat blurred between Potrero and Surfside — Potrero (“pasture”) was the original Costa Rican name of both, but Surfside became the popular name when a lot of foreigners began developing its southern outskirts. Most people would probably say that Potrero starts somewhere north of Perlas, and it’s Surfside to the south. In either place, you can’t go wrong.



Getting Around:

Our agents will be happy to assist you with renting a car, giving you the freedom to explore the area where you want, when you want. For short drives to nearby towns or beaches, golf carts are another popular mode of transportation. You can also rent a bicycle to ride around in town or beyond.



We can arrange transfers to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be delivered to your property at no additional cost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery as our private van drives you here from the airport.



Taxis are available but can be a bit hard to find. Many locals use buses to get around, though there are a limited number of routes and times of day when you can catch them. Private shuttles can be a great option for traveling to nearby destinations, and many tour companies offer transportation to and from the tour. Our information brochure will provide you with useful information on local transportation options and points of interest, as well as contact information for taxis and shuttles.

It's a great location to access the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. It was nice have beach chairs and a bogie board! The only issues was a few days prior had to pay a non-refundable damage waiver on their management site not on VRBO and wasn't aware of the hidden fee.

Great location and house layout

So easy to walk to the beach, restaurants, grocery, and have our own pool! Housekeeping came once a week which was nice. Still trying to resolve why we were charged $200 for a slight scratch on the couch even though we paid for the extra insurance to cover any damages.

We rented this place to attend a wedding in Playa Potrero. It was only a 5 minute walk to the wedding. The bars, restaurants, and grocery store were also only a 5 minute walk away.

Casa Mango in Potrero

Casa Mango is a very comfy, colorful home conveniently located a block off the beach and the Main Street in sleepy Potrero. Our family of five had plenty of room, and we especially liked the backyard with its pool, hammock, and sitting areas. Potrero itself is quiet, but with a nice beach to walk. There were several good bars and restaurants where we were able to find vegan and vegetarian food and drink options for our family.

We were looking for a quiet stay in a decently priced place close to the beach The house is well appointed and met the criteria but
but it’s surrounded by lots of other houses several of which play loud music from early in the day until late at night!!! Not restful at all!

Wonderful!

This was the perfect home for our month long stay in Potrero. Very clean with a well appointed kitchen. With 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths we had plenty of room for guests and family to come visit. We really enjoyed the back yard with it’s large shaded area for coffee and cocktails, plus the 3 ft deep pool was perfect for cooling off yet not having to worry when our 4 yr old grandson wanted to go in. All in all the house was perfect for us with its close proximity to restaurants and the beach.
