Fantastic relaxing break

This is a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was good with a variety each day. Hotel entertainment staff were excellent and were very encouraging to get people involved in the many activities. Evening entertainment was excellent with a variety of hotel entertainers and external people. A fantastic family holiday.

Resort was very clean in all areas inclusive g the rooms, gardens, pools, restaurants etc.The all inclusive food options were pretty good too. The only negative I would have is that the reception staff were not the friendliest. It felt when you made a request for a taxi or had a question that you were “bothering” them.

Good improvement since Reno.

The RIU paradiso has been recently renovated and it has improved significantly! The hotel has good amenities but feels a bit too big to be personal. Dinner is very good but breakfast would benefit from fresh orange juice and fresh cooked omelettes. Value for money is good ! We enjoyed the quieter pool beside the main accommodation blocks.

Great location, Good Hotel, below par food

The hotel is in a great location just across the beach so even though its not a private beach, its literally across the road. The hotel is very clean and the hygiene levels, etc are excellent. the pools are very clean and there are loads of deck chairs around as well. Our bathroom had a peculiar sewage type smell though it kept appearing and disappearing. The staff was really very good generally - except for a couple at the bar area who were not particularly friendly. The real disappointment was the all inclusive food. it was all well below par and completely unexciting and a bit tasteless. Even the 2 speciality restaurants were nothing to write home about, though the Pan Asian one was decent. Their non-alcoholic pina colada was really watery. The cappucino & breakfast were the only saving graces.

Summary of hotel Riu Paraiso

Hotel was overall very good, all inclusive choice of food was excellent, alcohol choices were extremely poor. I would normally stay in H10 and it doesn't really compare to be honest. At H10 you get a choice of a bottle of water or glass of wine with your dinner. Here you only got a small glass of water. Room was very clean and air conditioning was also very efficient, hotel overall was well manicured which makes for a very pleasant experience. Shower size and pressure was excellent, there seemed to be a slight glitch in that occasionally where the shower water would get very hot quite quickly without having touched the regulator (Room 326). Hotel location is very good approx 4km from the port in Puerto del Carmen and something similar to the airport runway. The beach to the front of the hotel is an excellent beach and reasonably safe. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, hotel is designed to make it feel like each room is an apartment and when you leave the room you get a feeling of being outside immediately which is quite nice and takes away the claustrophobic feel of hotel corridors. Entertainment was also very good taking into account it is a holiday hotel, a lot of the performers seemed to be from Bulgaria and we really enjoyed the shows they put on and you could tell there was a lot of effort put in with limited stage and equipment to probably work with so they deserve a lot of credit. Overall its a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay.
