We have hired villas many times on Costa del Sol but Casa Joya was definitely the best. The villa itself had everything we could have wanted and was in beautiful condition. The pool was excellent and a good size for a swim. The additional advantage is the location. About 45 mins from Malaga airport and only around 15 mins to the sea. What could be better? Peace and tranquility around the pool with great views and easy to go to the sea if you feel the need. Reaching the villa was quite straight forward and the drive was similar to other rural villas we have visited. In the hills you should expect narrow windy roads and we had no problems even at night. Uta, the owner was easy to contact which made us feel even more relaxed. I would very highly recommend this villa.

Nice and private.

We stayed for 2 weeks in August 24, our party was 4 adults ranging from mid 40s to mid 70s. We chose this villa because we need somewhere without stairs and has a great view, and this didn’t disappoint on either. Whilst we were there the temperature was in the late 30 deg C and the air conditioning was an absolute delight, but it is only in the main room and the master bedroom, the second bedroom would have been more pleasant if it had it as well, a small fan was provided but we had to buy an additional large fan to try and cope with the heat. The pool was lovely and very private. The drive up to the villa is challenging and you need to be a confident driver. A great holiday had by all

Lovely relaxing stay

We had a great holiday at Casa Joya. It was a bit of a steep climb in the car getting there but it was worth it as it was so tranquil and relaxing. The villa itself had everything we wanted and if we had any questions or queries, the property managers replied in minutes and were so helpful. Myself, my husband and my two kids had a magical holiday, playing pool volleyball and also card games on the roof terrace until the sun set. Perfect. If only we could’ve brought the sunshine back to U.K. 😃

Relaxing holiday

Beautiful well equipped villa with fantastic views set in a peaceful location. The pool is a good size, very clean and well managed. Plenty of hot water for the showers, well equipped kitchen with lots of utensils, WiFi and freeview tv worked great. Car is required for the villa with plenty of parking space. A very enjoyable holiday.

Lovely villa to chill out and relax.

Villa was just right for us. Views were amazing and loved the location. Road to villa would be a challenge to unconfident driver. But we found the drive fine. Villa had everything you needed for your stay, very well equipped. If you want peace and quiet, with great outdoor space and pool. Loved the villa and will be back again.

Tired

Had a lovely relaxing week, views were great, however property was tired and is in need of tlc. Bedroom fan and fridge were dirty, fridge could of been the last rental but the fan hadn’t been cleaned for months, we dare not use it as it would of been snowing inside! Hot water for the showers was non existent, luckily it was hot so cold showers were refreshing. Outside chairs were great to sit and have a coffee in the mornings or a drink or two in the evening and the fairy lights were a nice touch. Spent most of the week outside using the pool which was great but again the shower was very dirty and everything needed a good sweep. It wouldn’t take much to get it back to how it looks in the photos, repairing broken tiles around the pool and a good tidy up. Nothing was a major issue and as we were only there for a week we made the most of relaxing in the sun and going out. The local square was lovely and well worth a visit, Gareth’s bar / cafe is excellent.

Review of Casa Joya

Very good accommodation. Good views over the valley. Pool very good. Relaxing atmosphere. Directions to the property were good. Single track road was an adventure with steep drops in one or two places but easily navigable (recommend to hire an automatic or hybrid vehicle). Two neighbors dogs could get into the grounds, no mess and they were compliant when shown the gate. With 2 young children not use to dogs we stopped their access perhaps the perimeter fence could be improved. Property description was accurate. I can recommend the property

Peaceful location

We’ve just had an eleven night stay at Casa Joya in the mountains. The views and the pool are worth going back for. A relaxing stay in a quiet location with all your needs catered for with amenities a short drive away. The drive through the village and up the mountains is ‘interesting’ but we’ve stayed in Frigliana mountains so we knew what to expect. All completely doable but might test a new/nervous driver. Nerja and Frigliana are both a short drive away and many beaches/coves around to explore. A relaxed and chilled holiday enjoyed by us both.

Tranquility and wonderful views

We had a very enjoyable stay at this rural villa, everything was as described. The veranda was especially useful when the sun got a little intense at lunchtime. Lovely breezes kept our stay very comfortable and the pool was excellent.

A wonderful place to get away from the stresses of life.

My family had a wonderful 10 day stay. We have stayed in the Nerja / Frigiliana / Torrox area around 12 times and this was up there with the best of them. It was lovely and relaxing yet close enough to drive to the local amenities, in Torrox. The final approach to the villa is a little interested if you are not good with heights or a nervous driver, but you soon get used to it.

Beautiful Rural Setting

A beautiful rural property. Casa Joya is a joy to stay in. Communication and support was great. The villa is comfortable and spacious. It is really well equipped. The outdoor pool area is perfect for a lovely relaxing holiday. The only downside is the getting in and out of the property. If you are a nervous driver, this is not the property for you. If you want a relaxing stay with beautiful views, then this is it. Excellent directions to find the property.

Cassie Joya was a secluded restful stay, well equipped which lived up to its name. The directions to the property were excellent helped by the useful signs at every turn. Outside seating was very comfortable assisted by the blinds on the veranda to block out the intensity of the afternoon sun. Would recommend a stay.

Joyful stay at Casa Joya

Stayed here for almost two weeks and it was fantastic especially if you are looking to get away from the crowds high up in the hills. The villa was clean, spacious and very comfortable with everything you need once you've done your shopping. Plus the views of the surrounding hills and mountains are amazing and you can take them in while cooling off in the swimming pool. Torrox Costa is about 10 min but car to go for shopping or try out the seaside restaurants, the roads up and down are interesting at times. I'd also highly recommend visiting Frigiliana. Overall loved the villa and would love to go back.

A little piece of heaven

Had a marvellous week at Casa Joya (well-named!). It looked difficult to access on the map, but Joy's detailed directions and the signs at the key junctions meant there were no problems, although you still had to be careful negotiating the narrow roads. Joy and Tony were very pleasant hosts, calling in to visit on the 2nd morning to check that all was well. The location and views from the villa were stunning, and it was utterly peaceful:nothing to be heard except the occasional barking of a dog. Lovely pool, a very comfortable covered terrace where I had my meals, and a roof terrace from where I saw eagles on 3 occasions. Plus Sky Sports and BT Sports on the TV! Add in a week's unbroken sunshine, dramatic sunsets and a magnificent array of stars visible at night, and you have the reasons for the title of this review!

A relaxing stay in a beautiful villa

The villa was very well presented, clean and tidy, and well equipped. Due to flight availability, we arrived very late but gaining entry to the property was no problem. A well equipped kitchen with all the usual appliances, a good selection of TV channels for the quiet evenings, nice sized pool and a spectacular view.

Lovely villa in a great location.

We have stayed in this area a few times before so knew the area pretty well, but had forgotten just how narrow and windy the approach road can be. But it is worth the trip for the views and peace and quiet. The villa is well positioned for sun all day. The pool is a constant 28 deg and is kept crystal clear. The various seating areas are great as you can have as much or little sun/shade as you choose. There are loads of easily accessible restaurants and bars within 20/30 minutes drive. The villa is well equipped and the aircon in the living room and master bedroom worked well. The tv and wifi were excellent, all the sky sports and film channels as well as regular channels. we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place as a fantastic holiday get away. Being 100% honest I must say the 2 single beds were very squeaky and noisy although comfortable, and the w/c plumbing is Greek style (no paper in the pan !) these 2 minor issues didn't spoil our holiday. Any minor issues were dealt with quickly by the maintenance crew, "Spiker " and his wife who are both lovely. All things said, we had a great two weeks of relaxation, good local food and enjoyment. Don't miss out on this villa.

Perfect villa for a relaxing holiday

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Casa Joya and can thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. The villa was spacious and modern with good air conditioning and wifi and also a variety of outside eating areas and a lovely terrace. We would start the day with breakfast by the pool overlooking spectacular mountain views and then go for a 40 minute walk around the mountain. Tony and Joy were lovely hosts and it was a pleasure to meet them and hear all about their travels. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

Excellent and very comfortable house, with all facilities provided.

The property was very pleasant, with a large array of cooking and eating facilities provided so that you can self cater as much as you want. There are several supermarkets within reasonable close proximities if you need to purchase your own food. There were several eating places, both indoors and outdoors whichever was more pleasant at the time. The road up to the property from Torrox Pueblo is quite tricky, but with careful and steady driving it can be negotiated easily. My wife and I negotiated the trip almost daily and had no incidents. The pool and air conditioning were both excellent features of the property, as the temperature while we were there was constantly above 30 deg. C. We also used the separate granny flat and found it very well appointed. We used it often so that we could have our own space away from the rest of the family for parts of the day. The television reception was very good and as the television was a smart TV, we could watch our favourite shows on Netflix as often as we liked. There was also a good selection of free to air shows and a UK cable system of stations, which gave good versatility in viewing pleasure. The property was very quiet and tranquil and we were never bothered with wild animals or creatures of any sort. We regularly spent time around the pool or on the front balcony area so as to enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful early mornings or late nights with great pleasure. We had 3 generations of family staying at the property and we all enjoyed the liveability of the property.
