Nestling in the Umbrian Hills close to the Tuscany border and Lake Trasimeno, stands this comfortable farmhouse. The house is a short drive to Cortona, a magical hillside town.
The large swimming pool (6x12 m) is the focal point of the extensive, professionally landscaped gardens. Surrounded by lavender, roses, flowering sage, rosemary, conifers, olive trees, the house has views to the mountains, the lake and the town.
This former farmhouse is made of traditional stone, and expertly renovated by Italian artisans. Internally the walls are a mixture of old brick, rock and white walls. The furniture consists of comfortable beds, large sofas and antique tables.
Activities in the local area include horse riding, walking, sailing, The area is also steeped in historical interest Etruscan tombs, Hannibal legends, Medieval hilltop towns.
The ground floor is for rent, the top floor is used for our family holidays, and shall not be occupied during your stay. This is totally private, and you shall be the only guests


Exclusivity, your own pool 12x6m shady terraces (3) and amazing vistas of the lake and town The wisteria and jasmine covered terrace downstairs, provides welcome shade from the mid-day sun, whilst looking out to the pool. The new pergola at the end of the pool provides shade between dips. Flowering sage, lavender, olive trees, all provide a backdrop for this beautiful location.
Cortona is a 15 minute drive away, with it's cobbled streets, huge cathedral, specialist shops, many Tuscan restaurants selling authentic Tuscan food, and the delicious gelateria's selling their home made ice cream.
This house is available for rent from Spring to Autumn.
There are many attractions in the summer, Trasimeno Blues, Umbria Jazz, and many events (free) in the Piazza. There is also a Friday Market 8-1pm.


Sitting in the Piazza drinking cappuchino in the morning, or prosecco in the evening is one of life's little pleasures.
Regardless of whether this is a romantic break, or a family holiday, there is something for everyone, the children can play in the piazza whilst eating home made gelati. Whilst the adults plan their evening meal.

This area caters for all. Whether you are an opera, antique, chocolate, food, history or culture fan then all of these are available. WIne and olive oil are also grown and sold in this area. An example of local wine is Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

What's on?: The calendar for this area is amazing, from antique shows, weekly markets, chocolate festivals, jazz festivals, blues festivals, and in addition opera, and other classical music extravaganzas, this area is never dull.

An itinerary would, perhaps include, breakfast on the terraces, a visit to Sienna, Assisi, Cortona or Passignano, and home for lunch and a siesta by the pool. Aperitvo at the Piazza and then an evening at a local restaurant sampling from the amazing menus of local foods.

The central location of this house, means that all of the great centres are within easy travelling distance by train or car.

There are also outlet stores for Gucci and all the other major Italian Brands at Valdarno, and Valdichiana for slightly closer outlet shopping experience.

Specialist delicatessens can be found at all major towns, from Tuoro, Passignano, Cortona and Castiglione del Lago to name the most local.
