5 Stars - if you don't mind the smell of smoke
This property has a lot going for it - but in spite of that, we won't be back.
The condo is spacious, well furnished and decorated, has a terrific amount of cooking/kitchen supplies, and is in an amazing location. The beds were surprisingly comfortable too. The staff (Nathan) at check-in was terrific and went above and beyond for us.
But we were entirely displeased with the fact that this "no-smoking" unit was clearly once inhabited by a heavy or long-term smoker. The smell of it hit us as soon as the door was opened. No amount of Febreeze or candles (thank you for trying Nathan) helped for more than a few minutes. As a family with allergies to smoke, this caused both of our children to be especially afflicted. After the first night our younger daughter was crying that her throat was burning and that she got dizzy when she sat up. Within a few minutes of being back outside (we left to get breakfast) she was feeling fine again. This repeated each night of our stay. Our older daughter began being affected by the second of our three night stay.
I believe that the furnishings (couch, carpet, draperies) need to be replaced, or professionally steam-cleaned to begin to address these issues. It's bad.
The other problem, which piggy-backs the first, is that none of the windows have screens. So while we left the windows open to get as much fresh air as possible, that also meant we had flying insects.
If these are not issues for you - you will love this place. It really is (other than those issues) a gem.
