This just might be the perfect blend between Venice elegance and convenience. The Antico Portego is just down from the canals giving you a rare opportunity to enjoy Venice and not have to climb stairs with your luggage. While getting there is easy, the area around our hotel was great too. Fun shopping, spots to enjoy a glass of wine, and food options are all right outside the door. Lastly, our room was elegant. There was far more space than the typical room and it was updated and quiet. What else could you ask for?

The hotel is in a great location on a side street and very quiet. The room was modern and clean. The bathroom was a nice size. There is no fridge or safe in the room. And no shelves or hooks in the bathroom for storage. The staff were wonderful and very responsive to email. They also have a spot to lock luggage if you arrive early, or have some time before leaving Venice. You can avoid carrying your luggage up and down bridges by taking the vaparetto from the train station to S Marcuolo stop, no bridges!

I had a fantastic time here. The property is stunning. The restaurants that are directly in front of the property are fantastic and it is perfect for escaping the crowds while still remaining closes to everything. I highly recommend staying here while staying in Venice.

The hotel had no on-site staff and only one entrance and the door malfunctioned and wouldn’t unlock. This was a once in a lifetime trip to Venice for us and it was ruined by this ridiculous issue. My wife talked to an employee at the restaurant next door and found out that the hotel has had this problem many times before. It seems inexcusable that they would not address this issue, if it keeps happening. Our medicine was locked in the hotel and we couldn’t get to it. So we sat outside the hotel waiting for the issue to be fixed for 2 hours.
