3-Day Stay to Roam the Veneto
The Antico Hotel Vicenza was a great place to stay for our Veneto experience. It's ideally located in the heart of Vicenza, making all sights in the historic center of this lovely city easily walkable, as well as a variety of excellent restaurants. Our bedroom was not snazzily decorated -- but very comfortable. The bathroom appeared to be newly renovated and served us beautifully. Breakfast was also good. Most of all the reception staff was always gracious and helpful with reservations (don't miss the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua) and other requests. The only difficulty we had was getting to the hotel in our rental car -- it's deep in the city's pedestrian-only zone. Once you've managed to get there however, the staff can explain the "right" way to go (perhaps they could send a map ahead of time to arriving guests?), and that worked perfectly for our goings and comings from then on. Overnight parking (from approximately 5 PM-10 AM) is also available for free on an adjacent street. With all our walking around we didn't see anywhere else in town we wished we'd chosen.
