If you want quiet, comfort and relaxation, this is the place for you.
Although this location and beach house were beautiful, relaxing and peaceful, we found it to be a bit to isolated for us. Our last evening we decided to eat out and spent a lot of time looking for a place to eat. Burrito Ranchos didn't seem exist anymore (even though menu at the house is in the kitchen and one review recommended it). We then tried the resort close by but didn't allow us access for just dinner. Luckily we came upon the hostel at the end of our strip and they had a few meal options left for us to choose from. Our power went out in the middle of the night until late morning (we were quite worried about losing all our fridge produce as there are no grocery stores close by) and then that night we were desperate for a shower and we were without water until the next morning.
The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you would need and it was great having a lg bottle of water provided. The beds were comfortable and we loved having ac. The beach was amazing and we enjoyed our morning walks. The waves are powerful but we were able to go out far enough as it remained quite shallow.
Amazing private location right on the beautiful ocean.
Unbelievable location, once you find it through the winding roads you'll be amazed. Surfing, quiet, friendly neighbors and untouched nature! Hosts and there friends who helped them out were super helpful, especially when my friend was sick and they did everything imaginable to help us out! Hope to go again!
Sunset waves is exactly as described. Three bedroom house on the beach. Clean, well maintained. Robin and Vicky answer all questions promptly and are helpful. The next door neighbor is the caretaker and is helpful. One of the bedrooms-with the twin bed, has the upstairs bathroom. The downstairs bathroom is behind the kitchen. Both bathrooms have a shower. There is also two outdoor showers. The water is not heated, but the weather was HOT, so you do not mind the cool shower. There is A/C units in each bedroom. One bedroom has a full bed, one has two twins, and one has just a twin. The kitchen is stocked with propane, drinking water, pots and pans, coffee maker, and many basic staples that you need for cooking. The ocean is swimmable, but the waves can get a little big. Its a good boogie boarding/surfing beach. Up the beach (North), 10 min walk, there is the Gran Pacifica Resort which you can visit for an entrance fee on $10 USD. They have a pool and restaurant/bar-American prices for food. The beach is generally fairly deserted. But on national/religious holidays it can get busy. We were there for Semana Santa-holy week, and the beach started to get very packed by Good Friday. The locals from Managua come down to party-it can get very loud. The house is the first one off of the public access, so people gathered on the beach right outside the fence. There is also a shade structure right outside the fence, on the beach for the locals to use. So if you are looking for absolute peace and privacy, this may not be the best place. The location is about an hour and a half from Managua. It is fairly remote, and it is on a dirt road. We were able to drive it with our little rental sedan. If you are looking for a home base to explore Nicaragua, it may not work for you as it can take several hours to drive anywhere and driving at night is not recommended. However, if you just want a place on the beach to relax, it is a good option. Get groceries in Managua, there is no place to stock up near the rental property. There is a restaurant called Burrito Bandito, 20 minutes up the dirt road from the property that has very good burritos. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property and the owners.
