Authentic Log cabin with something for everyone!

An authentic log cabin on 7 acres with a small lake in the front yard. Sleeps 10 in beds (10 maximum capacity). More wildlife than imaginable. Every time of day brings out different animals and birds. Built for family gatherings and fun. Enjoy swimming in the lake. Enjoy feeding the fish (we do not allow fishing) as all fish have been hand raised and are pet like. We do provide fish food for your enjoyment (and theirs:). Enjoy local historical places, numerous wineries and breweries all within 10 miles. Ride the Katy Trail, and do some local shopping. Be sure to visit historical downtown Washington, which is one of the top ten historical districts in the US. Daniel Boone home and monument are close and worth visiting. Busch's wildlife conservation area has over 50 stocked lakes for fishing and other outdoor fun. All of these attractions are within 10 minutes of the cabin.

Cabin was clean, but very dark inside. It could really use better lighting. Was difficult to sit around the table at night and play cards. Also a lot of things were just a little “off” like the fridge door handle is missing, burnt light bulbs, blinds don’t work, etc. But our main issue was the A/C — it did not work for a July in Missouri. The owners were very responsive and did what they could, but basically said it was doing all it could. So we had some uncomfortable times in the cabin. Especially the upstairs loft — it was like an oven.

The cabin was beautiful and nice place to unplug from the rest of the world. Only suggestion would be to have a softer bed in the main bedroom and a step stool in the second bedroom for short people to climb into the high bed. Overall, we truly enjoyed all the nature and spending quality time together playing games and good old fashion conversations.

Loved it!

Had a great time, the place was so fun. Had an issue getting in on time because of the cleaners. Considering they were there 40 minutes on top of the 5 hours they are allotted to clean between guests, I do wish the place was more clean. Other than that it was a beautiful location secluded and about an hour out from St. Louis. Would recommend and would stay again!

Rustic Get Away

This property takes you back to a time when life was simpler. Being able to feed the catfish and seeing the wildlife was so relaxing. There is plenty of room to gather, and the place accommodated our 8 adults wonderfully. Rustic and relaxing!

Girls Trip

We enjoyed the cabin for our girls get away. The feeding of the fish was a hit and we got to see baby geese be born! The turtles are awesome too! Overall the place met our needs. Did not expect all the taxidermy animals. We really enjoyed the local area. They had lots of fun events we found. The walking trails were nice! Thank you for opening your place for us to spend our time together.

Wonderful time!

It was a very accommodating cabin that made it an easy stay and the kitchen allowed us to easily cook. Loved the privacy and would like to return when weather was warmer to take more advantage of the outside amenities.

Nice cabin

The cabin was all it was described to be, very close to where we live and yet we felt like we were really away from the hustle and bustle of life. Plenty of room for our planned group. The winter weather kept us indoors for the weekend, but we could see the potential for fun outdoor activities. One suggestion is to provide steak knives in the kitchen. Thanks for a nice weekend.

2nd Year in a Row! Outstanding Property!

Clean, in fact very clean. Well stocked with kitchenware, bath towels and pretty much anything else you need. The property owners are welcoming and available, if you should need them. This is our second year at the property for a group of 6 friends who used to camp outdoors in the winter. This place is warm and comfortable with nice views of the woods and lake.

Awesome cabin, lots of lady bugs. No fishing in the pond…we didn’t know that. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. The pond there and fishing in it was one of our reasons for booking the cabin but the owner doesn’t want anyone fishing in the pond. Only 1 trash bag was provided. Bit of an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. Plenty of room for big families or groups.Lighting is awful but overall, awesome cabin

Do your homework!

Horrible smell from the water. Excuse was Marthasville's water table and the host had nothing to do with it. It should have been disclosed in the description. I don't understand how this wasn't an issue for others that reviewed. It was almost unbearable. When confronted Tami said that they live nearby and also deal with it. I should not have to pay to "deal" with it. Ant traps and mouse traps throughout the cabin. In other reviews she replied back that it was a cabin and that should be expected. Even though it was winter there were flies and wasps throughout the cabin.TV is not a smart TV so if you do not have Direct TV you're only going to get about five local channels. The lighting is poor and her excuse to others is it's a cabin. There is plenty of room for more lamps (we moved one from the bedroom to the living room) and lots of lightbulbs to be replaced. No outdoor lighting other than one dinky porch light. Complete blackness otherwise. No visible smoke detectors on the first floor. No blankets anywhere in the place, expected to use the comforter that our dog kept sniffing the edges at the floor. No trash bags in kitchen, not even in the cans, no sharp kitchen knife-had to cut meat with a bread knife, barely any kitchen supplies (bring everything), no snow shovel (snowed 4"), two rolls of TP for nine nights, no dish liquid and on and on and on. Threshold in foyer was a hazard. Tami was very curt in her answers maybe even snarky. I can't wait to see response.
