4 BR Mountain cabin with beautiful long range views in quiet gated community

Nestled at 4,000 ft. on a mountain ridge, Standing Elk Lodge is your perfect home away from home for large families and multi-family vacations. Our luxury cabin is located in Smoky Mountain Retreat, a private, gated community just minutes from everything that Maggie Valley and Waynesville has to offer. The interior of our oak log home is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for everyone in nearly 5,000 sq. ft. From our decks and porches you can see amazing long range mountain views, Lake Junaluska and wildlife up close and personal or stay inside and enjoy relaxing, or playing pool or Foosball.

PLEASE READ BEFORE RESERVING: NO MOTORCYCLES OR SLINGSHOTS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS COMMUNITY.

First floor (main level): There are two master bedrooms, each with a king bed and its own bathroom (garden/jacuzzi tub + shower) and private access to gorgeous views from the upper back deck.

Kitchen, dining room, half bath, and a family room with floor to ceiling windows and amazing mountain views. Gas fireplaces, washer/dryer.

Second floor (Upper level): Loft with pool table, Peloton Cycle, sleeper sofa and area for relaxing and playing games. Including an entry door to a covered porch.

Third floor (Lower level): Queen bedroom, Second bedroom with 2 twin beds (with 2 trundles) and full bathroom. Entry from the 2-car garage, second family room equipped with a bar, refrigerator, Foosball Table, Bumper pool/poker/game table and comfortable seating to relax and watch TV.

Your morning at Standing Elk Lodge begins with a cup of coffee and gorgeous sunrise views from the back porch. Spend your day exploring, hiking, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, or shopping in Maggie Valley, Waynesville or Asheville. After a day of exploring or relaxing in the house, enjoy a meal prepared in our fully stocked kitchen or fire up the gas grill on the deck while soaking in the scenery.

3 Night Minimum Stay
Nightly Rate: $360 Weekly rate: $2,320
Holidays: 5-7 Night minimum stay; July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years: $470 nightly, $2820 weekly.

11% Tax applied to rent. Optional 6.5% Travel Insurance applied to rent.
The Damage Protection of $50 is a required item that will be added to the reservation.
$50 Damage Protection Plan ($3,000 of Insurance). (Non-refundable)
$65 Reservation Fee (plus Tax)
$300 Cleaning Fee
No Pets Allowed

Internet Speed: The provider is SkyRunner. The speed is 10mb down and 5mb up.
The Smoky Mountain Retreat at Eagle’s Nest subdivision does not permit motorcycles or trailers on the mountain.

Perfect Family Retreat

We loved our stay! It worked perfectly for our family of 4 to be upstairs and then grandparents to be downstairs. We loved the porch and the view. Home was very clean and well stocked with supplies. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic Home!

Our family has rented a home in Waynesville/Maggie at least 1/year for over 10 years. Everyone agreed, this was the best yet. We had 6 adults staying at the house and 4 more were with us mid-afternoon until early evening. Having things spread out across the 3 floors meant it never felt crowded. Beautiful view, secluded and quiet.

Plenty of room for our whole family. The furnishings were comfortable. The view was fabulous over the valley. The kitchen was well stocked to support most needs. Baby gates did not seem to fit. Very convenient to town, but you could not tell from the lofty location!

Beautiful property and views

We loved the property It made our getaway special. We cooked everyday so wished the kitchen was bigger. There were only three wine glasses and they were each different in size and style. We bought some and left them at the house. The indoor cleaning was not top notch. there were cobwebs in the house and some things were just not cleaned well. The outdoor areas and the furniture seemed like they were not cleaned at all. The overall experience was superb, however. We loved it so much that we have told friends about the propeery and they may be renting it In the future.

Had a great time!

This property exceeded my expectations. There was plenty to do even though it rained almost every day. Enjoyed the fireplaces, pool table, and well equipped kitchen. Views from every room were awesome. Location was perfect to go to the Smokey Mountain National Park, Biltmore House, and Train in Bryson City. The drive up to the property took some getting used to for these “flatlanders” from Florida. Would definitely book this house again.

Heaven on Earth

Oh! The view! I should say views! Every morning, every afternoon and Every evening the views are different and more beautiful than the last! The house has absolutely Everything!the bedrooms are beautiful with comfortable beds! Cathy allowed us to bring our dogs,, removing the stress of having to kennel them while we were away. The house is way up the mountain side close to Maggie Valley and Waynesville. Great food, shopping wineries and breweries. Incredible vacation. The Only bad thing I can say is, 8 days went by Tooooo Fast!!

Gorgeous, clean cabin

This is by far the nicest and cleanest cabin we have ever stayed in (and we are sticklers about cleanliness, being former property managers). The views are awesome! We were able to catch some great camera shots of the sun rising over the mountains with the snow and ice capped trees illuminated. We received some snow, so we were thankful for our friend's 4WD in order to get up and down the mountain. Because of the chilly outdoor temperatures, we adjusted the heat registers in areas not being used in order to get more warmth flowing into the bedrooms. We figured this out after the second frigid night. The owner was great with communications. Thank you for sharing your lovely place with us!

Great View!

We had a great visit! The home is beautiful and spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us. We had two families 4 adults and 4 teens. The two master bedroom set up was really nice for more than one family and there was plenty of space for lounging around and dining. We loved the view from the decks. It is amazing.

Very Relaxing - Felt Like Home

We stayed for a month and it felt like a day. The home was very clean and welcoming. It had everything you needed and all in good working order. The setting was beautiful. We enjoyed feeding the birds in feeders provided. The location was convenient to the Blue ridge, golf, pickelball in Waynesville, Asheville, Waynesville and other interesting towns. Beds were super comfortable. We had several friends and family join us at different times and all enjoyed their stays. Plenty of room. Cathy was very responsive and helpful. Overall, it felt like home and we would definitely go back.

Beautiful Cabin Beautiful View

Our stay in the beautiful Smokey Mountains was made even more enjoyable staying in this cabin. Very spacious, well stocked and beautifully decorated. The owner was wonderful to work with on every level, before, during and after our stay. This cabin is close to all the surrounding activities. The view off the deck is incredible! I hope that we can return soon!
