Conductor’s Quarters - Historic Lakefront 1-Bdrm with Kayaking near Florence
Step back in time and enjoy lakeside luxury at Conductor’s Quarters, a beautifully restored 1-bedroom cabin at historic Siltcoos Station Retreats, nestled on the peaceful shores of Siltcoos Lake.
This unique retreat combines rich railroad heritage with modern comforts. Thoughtfully furnished with period-authentic antiques and décor inspired by the site’s former life as a train station, the cabin invites you to relax in character and style.
Inside, you’ll find a full kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, antique functioning stove, and a selection of complementary teas and coffee — perfect for preparing meals during your stay. The inviting living space flows into a cozy bedroom under vaulted ceilings, and the bathroom includes a classic clawfoot tub for a truly relaxing soak.
Large, well-insulated windows and doors help minimize noise from the active rail line (typically one train per day) so you can rest peacefully while still enjoying the authentic setting.
Conductor’s Quarters also includes a desk and rolling chair — an ideal spot for remote work or creative inspiration with tranquil lake views and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Step outside to savor lakefront living: explore the marina, pier, and docks just steps away, take a paddle in one of our complimentary kayaks or canoe (first-come, first-served), or relax with a sunset over the water.
Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate access to coho salmon, steelhead, rainbow trout, bass, perch, bluegill, and catfish right from the property, and the surrounding region offers hiking, foraging, beach adventures, and the charm of nearby Florence.

Relaxing stay
We stayed in the Conductors Quarters. The rooms are nice and filled with Antiques. The owners are very tentative to the guests needs. You look out the window from your room and get a full view of the lake. Its a great place and I recommend staying there.

Beautiful peaceful getaway
We had a wonderful time during our stay in the conductors quarters. The view of the lake is breathtaking and the serenity and peacefulness of the area makes it so easy to relax and enjoy yourself. The room was a step back in time and we would recommend Silt Coos Station to anyone for a beautiful getaway. They also have a wonderful pontoon boat that you can rent to get a closer look at the gorgeous lake.
Not having been to the property before, we were delighted with the tranquility, the accommodations, proximity to the lake, the availability of the kayaks and canoe to use and the friendly and attentive hosts! Definitely hope to return.

Cozy/Novel cabin
The owners have worked hard to decorate the insides of the cabins in 1920/30 decor, from furniture, appliances, and railway memorabilia. Very cozy, novel, and interesting experience. you can use their canoe or kayaks, and life vests without paying extra. We had no cell service, (you might check with your carrier prior to arrival,) although we were able to get online, and do “FaceTime”. They have propane fire pits for each cabin and common area, and in this day of not being allowed to have regular campfires, was a thoughtful addition. That being said, the property itself needs a lot of work, most importantly, the wooden railing and steps that go down to the common area are dangerous. The railing posts are rotted where they go into the ground, one step is loose and rotted, and weeds are overgrown on the steps. What once was, I’m sure, a large and beautiful waterfall/pond is all but empty, yet fish are still kept in it.
