Everything was wonderful, from the pillows and beds, roasted pretzels, beautiful rooms and house decor to claw foot bath tubs, breakfast and afternoon wine. Staff was nice not very talkative (maybe they are advised to just do their job, which they did beautifully)but they were pleasant. Would stay again and will recommend to our friends.

Everything was perfect. The Inn keeper. Evelyn took care of us like family. Loved the charm of the place! It transported us to another time. Of course it is an old house, but so elegantly put together!

Comfortable, clean and beautiful Historic home

We stayed in the Ludlow House, in Col Ludlow bedroom. The bed, linens, pillows were extremely comfortable. Had the best sleep every night. Spacious and very clean. Location is perfect. Easy walk to superb restaurants like West End Cafe and Moselle’s. My only complaint was the TV service. Did not have any local or Broadcast channels to watch football or tennis. Could not get any live news channels except for many I would never watch. Not even CNN available. Otherwise, service was great!

The history of the property is alluring. The bed was so comfortable and inviting. There were so many things that we wanted to do that we could not in the time that we were there. We did have a slight issue with not being able to find an innkeeper when needed, but we never had any issues other than that. We would definitely return. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A real gem for those wanting a private vintage experience in the West End. We enjoyed the ambiance of a small Inn with just 6-7 named rooms all with period decor and spacious upgraded bathrooms. Pool table, parlor, porches and beautiful grounds. A short, safe walk to some of the best local restaurants. A true find. Thank you

Check this place out!

This place is amazing! I’ve never stayed at a bed-and-breakfast before, but I cannot wait to come back to this place! I rented the Reynolds Loft and it took my breath away. It’s a unique room, very spacious and I felt guilty for staying here by myself! I highly recommend you check it out as it makes for a great little solo getaway or a romantic trip for couples.

Healing Retreat

My wife and I spent a considerable amount of time looking for the ‘right’ place to stay for her to recover following a surgery at Wake Forest Hospital. We were unsure about a bed & breakfast but reviews were great and the photos looked nice. Wow, what a great choice we made. The room - The Chesterfield King - was great. Charming, sizable and with a large shower, private porch and plenty of streaming options on the TV The service was just as wonderful. Mary Evelyn couldn’t be kinder and more accommodating to our special needs and the property was very well kept. Finally, while we did not have the opportunity to take much advantage of the property’s amenities… they were there as needed - beautiful property to walk, billiard room for entertainment, morning breakfast and afternoon wine options. And on top of all of that, we were walking distance from some great restaurants and shops. Thank you Summit Street Inns for making an out of town surgery recovery as homey as possible.
