The bathtub appeared to have a shower but there was not a way to turn the shower head on!!! THERE WAS NO SHOWER CONTROL!! Also, there was no way to take a bath because the drain did not have a stopper. I would not recommend this hotel because of that.

Our stay there was fine. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are good. There was an easy chair and an office chair and a fridge and microwave. The staff was polite and helped us with an extra blanket and pillow. Beautiful view out our window of the surrounding countryside. Convenient place to stay during the Covered Bridge Festival in Winterset.

The room was clean but smelled really musty. The pillows were very uncomfortable. There was an exterior door to the hotel that would not close unless you really pulled/pushed on it. Due to the door not closing very well there seemed to be a lot of bugs in the room. This hotel could use some maintenance.

The shower did not work. They aren’t staffed 24/7 so couldn’t tell anyone about it until the next morning. Was driving for 10 hours, and not having a shower was disappointing. The woman was nice, but did not offer compensation or discount. She said I have to tilt it, and then pull.

Smelly Room

Only hotel to go to for Winterset. Breakfast was in a converted room. Eggs were chemical egg whites and the condiments were Walmart rejects. A banana was the best thing. Room was musty and you could not open window. We left the door open to the hall and ran the shower to get the smell out. How this place rated high is a mystery. To all of you out there, ask to see the room first before you pay. We are going to do this from now on.

Not sure why the changes?

Price on Hotels.com was $239 for 2 rooms but even though I paid for Both she rang them up separately which came $244. I understand it’s only $5 difference but kind of defeats the purpose of using your site cause the extra $5 just defeated my dollars of credit For booking with you. Hotel also was definitely not worth the price we paid since it was not even half full so not like a shortage of rooms. I will book with you again next time and see if things go better but my husband also booked through you guys a couple weeks ago in Sioux City Iowa for 4 nights but when we got there they had no rooms for us. We have used your site for years but wondering what is happening all of a sudden.
