Harbour Heaven - Waterfront Home with Spectacular Views

Enjoy a private slice of paradise in this newly-constructed home with breathtaking views of Merigomish harbour which opens into the Northumberland Strait. A private dock allows you to sit and enjoy the view or swim in the exceptionally warm and sheltered inlet salt water. This house is perfect for enjoying morning coffees or evening cocktails on the spacious front deck or smaller side deck. Simple, tasteful and comfortable with all new household appliances and beds. It is just 5 minutes from Melmerby Beach and 15 minutes to the town of New Glasgow. There is also a variety store located 5 minutes away which will accommodate your basic food and adult beverage needs. This is a private place to relax and enjoy watching bird life and nature do its thing.
This property is also close to many Maritime attractions; including the PEI ferry (25 mins drive), scenic Cabot Trail (1hr 45mins drive), Cape Breton island (1hr 15mins drive) and historic Halifax (1 hr 30 mins drive).

A beautiful home. The pictures don’t due it justice. Lily was extremely attentive and answered our requests promptly. The house has comfortable furniture and excellent quality sheets and towels, as well as everything you’d ever need in the kitchen! We loved the sunrises out the kitchen windows, and deck with plenty of seating and cushions.

Delightful!

A delightfully decorated home, comfortable furnishings, and incredible views!After several sightseeing days, this was the perfect place to relax during a rainy day. Because of the weather, we did not walk down to the dock or use the spacious outdoor decks. The owners responded quickly to any questions and the house was well stocked. It was a delightful stay!

An Ideal Getaway

We enjoyed every minute of our trip to Nova Scotia but the highlight was definitely the accommodations here. The property is gorgeous, not too isolated, and allowed us to recharge and relax after touring the nearby attractions and coast.Our hosts were attentive and kind, and their collective charm was reflected in the property - a bright and inspiring space, to say the least! Highlights included the deck and dock, a firefly-lit field at night, and all the nature/wildlife that surrounds the area. All the local people we met were kind and courteous. It was all a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of downtown Calgary, where we call home.I’d recommend this holiday home for anyone curious about what Nova Scotia, specifically Pictou County, has to offer! It met and exceeded all expectations.

The location was great. Lovely property with great views. Short drive to highway, beach and New Glasgow. Very well equipped rental with everything you could need. Communications with the host were very clear and helpful.

Absolute gem!

We could not have been happier with our stay at Lily's beautiful home. The house is so perfectly designed and decorated that we immediately felt completely relaxed and superbly cared for. And the grounds are stunning. The view from the deck is gorgeous, and the dock is such a fun hang-out spot. It was difficult to get ourselves out to see the sights, we were so happy both indoors and out. And Lily was a wonderful host--so pleasant and helpful. My family and I could not recommend this place more highly.

The cottage is bright, clean and well equipped. The location is idyllic. Private, great view and plenty of wildlife sightings. We miss morning coffee on the front deck! Lily and Dave are delightful and engaging hosts. We look forward to our next stay.

Peaceful

My husband and I have been exploring our own province for the past few years, trying a different location every year. I have loved every location and house but this is the best one yet. We have already decided to come back. House is beautifully decorated and immaculate. Huge deck, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or evening beverage. Dock was a definite bonus. Spent an entire day there. One thing, wear sunscreen. It was windy on the dock which kept it cool so I didn’t realize I was getting a bad sunburn. This is a very quiet, serene location which we loved. We had plans to visit New Glasgow and Picto which we didn’t do until what was suppose to be our last day as we never wanted to leave the property. We actually stayed an extra day and visited Melmerby Beach. Definitely do that. It was worth it. Next time we will be staying longer. Highly recommend this property. Also, lily responded to our inquiries immediately which was fantastic.

Warm and Welcoming!

Has Joanna Gaines come to Nova Scotia? That was my first impression as we entered the house! Seeing the lovely pictures online, I knew we had picked a winner, but in reality, the vacation property is so much more! Brand new, bright, and beautifully decorated, the house is a gem. The grounds and view are equally as stunning. So warm and welcoming, the house quickly became our" home away from home". It is centrally located, and we used it as our base camp to visit many sites in Nova Scotia. The owners were so sweet and easy to contact, yet they totally respected our privacy. Additionally, the rental fees were very reasonable for such lovely accommodations. Thank you, Lily and Dave, for your gracious hospitality. We wish you all the best with your ongoing endeavors.

This property was incredible!

My husband and I came to Nova Scotia to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Not only was Nova Scotia everything we’d hoped for but this home was absolutely beautiful. Awesome view of the water, quiet, with surrounding trees. Every morning and evening we’d sit on the deck and admire the view and surrounding nature and beauty. The home was new, clean, comfortable, both inside and outside, and Lily thought of everything a guest might need. Even though our week was a bit cool and rainy, we still enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be returning!
