The Big Sea is a roomy and comfortable home in the most westerly property on Yachats' premier ocean front street...
it juts toward the ocean like the bow of a ship! This home has unobstructed 180-degree views of the majestic pacific ocean, crashing rocky coast waves, and spectacular Cape Perpetua.
Both bedrooms have excellent ocean views...
the waves' gentle roar will lull you to sleep at night and greet you each morning.
You can watch a parade of sea lions, otters, pelicans and whales
while you bask in the glow of the large brick fireplace in the beamed-ceiling living room
or while enjoying the fresh ocean air on the large west or south-facing deck.
This fantastic beach get-away is in a great area to look for agates, jade and shells.
There is an easy access to the rocky beach and tidepools,
and it is a short walk to Yachats State Park, many art galleries, restaurants and shopping.
The adjacent historic 804 Trail provides miles of walking or jogging through sandy beaches, rocky coast and lush plant life.

You will feel relaxed and revitalized by your visit with the ever-changing pacific ocean, stars, and sky!
And your dog will love the roomy fenced/gated backyard lawn that faces the Big Sea.

The house has a spectacular ocean view and we really enjoyed watching the waves from the very comfortable livingroom couch and recliner! We had evening fires in the fireplace, which made it really cozy.

The View

This was my second time staying at this house. It's all about the view! It's nothing too fancy, but it is clean and already had plenty of everything. I stayed here for 2 nights in May and the weather was good, by coast standards. I hope to return again when price is not so high.

Comfortable with fabulous view

Thoughtfully stocked, perfectly comfortable with jaw dropping views. I loved the shower and living room furniture. Location is perfect for walking the town, but we spent hours watching the waves from the cozy living room. One of my all time favorite houses!

Everything About this Property is Great!!

We were pleased with all aspects of this property and our rental experience with Ocean Odyssey, the management company. The location is phenomenal, right on the ocean. The house was very clean and comfortable. Yachats is a great vacation town. It's a small town with ample restaurants. And if you like seafood, then you will be very happy you came here. The only negative for myself personally was that I think there should be (a lot) more lighting in the living room area. A few floor lamps with strong bulbs would probably do the trick. Otherwise, all was great and we spent a lovely vacation. I thank the owners for making it available at an affordable price and for accepting our small dog too.

Great place and view

Great place. Not updated but has all you need. Gross silverware with the plastic handles need to be replaced. They are dirty and gross. We only saw her aware that didn’t have plastic handles. The area is nice. View is amazing. Lots of beaches nearby but none right out front Great food and atmosphere at the Drift Inn. Lots of gluten free options. The bakery is only open on the weekends; has a couple gluten-free options and not a lot of other options but maybe they were just sold out when I got there.

Best Oregon Coast location!

Nice comfy house with the most amazing view. LItterally next store to the tide pools, and ocean views from every window Yachats is a wonderful town with a great bakery, ice cream store, seafood, etc. Very close to some neat coastal sights and hikes.

Amazing view

House was clean and the view was the best. Came to enjoy the beach storms and boy did the weather give us storms. Plus a couple calm days to get out and explore. The living area was a little dark, it would have been nice to have more/brighter lighting options, but this was easy to overlook because of the view out of the windows that spanned to entire front of the house. The bed in the smaller room was a little soft, but that is our opinion, others may love a softer bed. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we are in the area.

Top Tier Destination

Planned a trip to Oregon and found this oceanfront last minute. The view is spectacular and the necessities for the stay are in abundance. We walked 2-4 blocks to shop, eat, drink and enjoy a beautiful coastal town. It was perfect for us and we will certainly be back!!

My mom and I stayed here for her 80th birthday. She grew up in Yachats. The house is very nice, quiet neighborhood, close to everything and has an incredible view. I would definitely stay here again

Great location

This was a great location and was roomier than I expected it would be. It was plenty of room for my husband and I and our two kids (16 and 12). The couch is a pullout and there were plenty of blankets/pillows/bedding. We loved it here

Gorgeous view!

This is a cute little house, had everything we needed, although it is in need of updating. The view was ah-mazing!! Loved the fenced backyard for our fur baby. We’ll definitely stay here again.

LOVED IT!

My BFF & I had a wonderful, relaxed 3 nights at Big Sea! The photos don't do it justice! All reviews rave about the views, but seriously they are amazing! We're fairly low maintenance so didn't use alot. It was nice to have them though. The sink in shower bathroom could use some draino and the sliding glass door needs some help! It's hard to open & close especially for seniors. Otherwise, it's great! Highly recommend!

Uncapturable Beauty

The pictures don't do it justice. It was bigger than we thought and, like everyone else says, WOW THE VIEW! We appreciated the closed yard for our pups and the mud room that kept the sand and rain shoes out of the main areas. Beach access is just right next door down a little path and while it's not much beach, if any, the rocks are abundant! Agate hunters dream home. The house is close to town and the wetland and urban forest areas. Over all an amazing home and an amazing stay.

Perfect spot for ocean watching

The property was very clean, beds comfortable, and the location was super. Right near the 804 trail for walking. Just a few blocks from the store and great shops & restaurants. This is an amazing location to watch the waves. It was too cold to sit outside on the deck, but we spent time in the large front yard taking photos and using binoculars. The bed in the second bedroom is a double, I think. My son is 6’2” so he took the larger bedroom with the queen bed. The kitchen has lots of dishes & cookware. People have left extra coffee filters. We’ll be back. This was charming and it was wonderful to sip hot tea on the couch and watch the huge waves from the storms.
