Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Breakfast was very good pub menu was also very good bed comfort good toilet blocked twice still blocked when we checked out
Accommodation was comfy and worth the amount paid. The person on the phone before arrival had been helpful. However, the service for breakfast the following day was awful. I had to go into the kitchen myself to speak to the chef as we couldn’t find the person who had previously been there to take orders. When they did arrive, they could not have seemed less interested in being there. No smile and not even basic politeness. When they brought the breakfast, which was mediocre, I asked if there was some cutlery as all that had been set out on the table was already used. They pointed at at nearby table which is as not occupied and told me there was some there and walked off.
Great place to stay with grwt facilities. Lovely spacious room and easy check in. The only thing was that the check out time was incorrect on Expedia to the actual check out time so had to get out of the room earlier than planned.
This is a charming pub and hotel that is perfect for visiting North Yorkshire. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the food is good and the room was comfortable and warm. One minor complaint- in our room the water pressure for the shower was very low.
LOVELY, PUB WAS GETTING VERY BUSY AT 6 O CLOCK TEA-TIME WHICH INDICATED HOW POPULAR IT IS. PRETTY OUTDOOR AREA WITH PLANTS AND FISH WAS BUZZING YET PEACEFUL FOR A FAMILY EVENING, THE ACCOMMODATION WAS SET IN THE GARDENS TO THE REAR OF THE PUB. MY BRICK BUILT B & B CHALET WAS WARM AND COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THAT I NEEDED, EVEN THE ALARM WAS PROVIDED BY THE NEXT DOOR COCKEREL !
I WAS TOLD OF RENOVATIONS TO BE DONE SOON. IN MY OPINION JUST A FEW ODD JOBS ARE NEEDED DUE TO CARELESS GUESTS. VERY QUIET COUNTRYSIDE LOCATION AND I WOULD LOVE TO RETURN FOR A LONGER BREAK. THANKYOU X
Very poor state of a mattress could feel every spring in every movement. Only 2 plug sockets in the room. Mould marks coming through on walls and ceilings.
Stayed here for two nights - on first night we were greeted by bar staff checked in - asked for table to eat we were told we would have to be quick as finish serving at 8pm (website showing 9pm) we arrived at 7.30.
I mentioned website showing 9pm she abruptly answered that doesn't start until Monday (Easter)
We quickly took our bags to the room & returned to the pub where we were asked what we wanted as soon as we walked back in
I asked for a menu as didn’t want the special pie night
Food was nice but couldn’t stand how rushed & abrupt the female staff member was
Breakfast staff totally different lovely & friendly.
Room needs updating too.
