Had a great stay over new year at the properties. One family in one bungalow and us in the other. Property was clean and fresh. Beautiful welcome items left for us by the owners, who were lovely and couldnt do enough for us. Woke up to the spectacular views and literally could have sat and watched the horses all day! The lodges were cosy and warm. We all loved it. The only thing i would have preferred was a slightly earlier check-in time, perhaps 3pm instead of 5pm. But thats just wee personal thing- i like to arrive in the daylight and enjoy the first day in the property. We would all definitely love to go back sometime soon. We loved it. Many thanks to the owners.
We stayed at The Orchard using it as a base to explore the area and visit friends in Alloa which is close by. The Orchard is well equipped and spotlessly clean, and the gift pack of 2 bottles of wine 1 red - 1 white, chocs, bread, milk and butter was very appreciated. The view over the fields and hills is beautiful and the horses are stunning. The bedrooms are a reasonable size with comfortable bedding. Close by attractions are , The Kelpies , The Falkirk Wheel , definitely worth a visit ,along with The Wallace Monument ,Stirling Castle. The Japanese gardens in nearby Dollar are also worth a visit. Pubs ,Restaurants and supermarkets are nearby. A great breakfast is to be had at Polly's Pantry less than 2 minutes away (try the Stormont Stack) Charcoal sourdough, local black pudding and poached eggs. Or alternately go to Muircot Farm Stalls for great smoked bacon and puddle-dub sausage .Even brought some home . Will recommend Meerparks and return again.
