Altavilla is a quiet village located on a hill between sea and mountains, 20 km from Palermo. It is the ideal place for those who love a certainly not boring holiday, you can enjoy the beauty of the beaches, which are very close to the town, then the beautiful mountain to be discovered. The house could also be a point of reference for visiting and discovering nearby towns such as Bagheria, the town where Tornatore surrounded his film, Porticello, a small seaside village, CefalĂč, another village proclaimed the most beautiful in Italy. then the wonderful beaches of Mandello renowned all over the world. The town is also home to a Marian Shrine that draws faithful from all over Sicily, then the city of Palermo to be visited both for its historical monuments and for its alleys full of life. The house is newly built furnished with taste and elegance for a pleasant, relaxing stay, the village people are very hospitable and welcoming.

The home was extremely clean and photos represent the rooms and furnishings well. The hosts are friendly and met us when we arrived. They welcomed us by making us espressos then walked us through the home sharing the location of towels, linens, washing machine, etc. With that said, please note, this is a 3 story home with 2 of the 3 bedrooms (and 1 full bathroom) on the third floor. The other bedroom and full bath is on the second floor. While this posed no issues for us, if you had a person that has difficulty climbing stairs, it could be a challenge. Additionally the house is right off a couple busy streets. From the front door to the street the distance is separated by only a 14-16 inch sidewalk. This, provides ample noise from traffic and people outside talking. 2 bedrooms have A/C in the room, and one does not, which caused that room to be much warmer than any of the others. The listing said internet was available in all rooms. There was NO WiFi or Internet, which was disappointing. Cell service (utilizing USA based Verizon and AT&T) was fair, but we did experience some brief periods of limited, or no service. Communication responses from the host (before check in) was a bit slow but did come in time to know to call her when we were close to the home. Our driver made the call for us as we unfortunately don’t speak Italian and they don’t speak English. After that, I used Google Translate and we did fine (in person or through the VRBO app).

Ci siamo trovati, bene casa pulita, n.3 bagni di cui uno con doccia e uno con vasca. Disponibilissimi alle nostre esigenze, piccolo problema risolto in meno di 5 minuti. Esperienza da ripetere.

Very clean on the loudest street with AC only in 1 bedroom

Attn: house has air conditioning in 1 bedroom ONLY!!! The other king room and single room do not have air conditioning. Living room ac needs Freon so barely cools. From Feb 3, had zero communication/replies from owner. No check in instructions day of July 8. Had to chat 45 min with customer service to find a contact number when owner did not respond check in day. Owner standing at door at arrival and had obviously been smoking in house. Cigarette butts in kitchen and bathrooms. 2 towels only for 4 adults. Broken caffù cups, only 1 bowl, otherwise kitchen was passing. We have family in this town that found us a room at sold out local hotel. Stayed one night of the worst stay I’ve ever had with 95 degrees in bedroom and cars racing up and down the street. Left after 1 night

Posizione strategica

Ci siamo trovati molto bene, in cinque persone abbiamo avuto spazio a sufficienza, essendo la casa sviluppata su 3 piani (sconsiglio valigie grandi, non essendoci ascensore). La casa si trova abbastanza vicina al centro del paese, e vicino ci sono molti negozi di alimentari e macellerie, raggiungibili a piedi.

Great community and beautiful home

Ninfa and her husband were extremely accommodating and very friendly! The entire community of Altavilla was very welcoming and every person we met was extremely friendly. The bars and restaurants we visited were fantastic. The inside of the home was beautiful, couldnt of asked for a better place to stay at such a reasonable rate. Our family will be back to stay at this location anytime we travel to Palermo.
