We had some issues with our flight, but the host was very understanding and didnât charge any extra for our late check-in, which we really appreciated. The apartment itself is spacious, and communication with the host was excellent â they provided many great recommendations about the island and responded quickly to any questions or requests. The location is also very convenient, with restaurants and a supermarket just around the corner.
However, I was quite surprised to find out that this is actually a basement apartment, which was not clearly mentioned in the listing or reflected in the photos. Because of that, thereâs no patio or terrace, and no windows, so the air doesnât circulate well. There was also a persistent smell in the toilet throughout our stay.
The apartment has only one air conditioner in the living room, and it turns off automatically every hour, which means you have to manually switch it back on frequently â quite inconvenient at night. Unfortunately, I also came across a few cockroaches during my stay.
Thereâs no dedicated parking space, and while thereâs free street parking nearby, itâs often very full and can be difficult to find a spot.
Overall, while the host was wonderful and the location is great, I personally wouldnât recommend this place unless youâre comfortable staying in a basement apartment with limited ventilation.
