The location of the house was ideal. We were able to get to the Brewster dog park, Ocean Edge for dinner and drinks frequently and Nauset Beach all very easily. The house layout was great for our family with teens - plenty of space for everyone. Outdoor space was ideal. The house is kind of old, so if you are okay with that, this is the house for you. Air conditioning in the bedrooms and basement only, so the first floor gets a little hot though it is very shaded by trees.
My family of 8 just stayed here for the week of August Saturday 22nd To 29th.
We have been staying in the cape for over fifteen years and have never had a rental experience this terrible and unacceptable.
There were numerous issues with the place from the noise level and cleanliness to serious safety hazards. This is absolutely not a rental fit for a family for any price whatsoever. This was our first time renting from Del Mar vacations and will be the last.
Here are some of the larger issues:
1. The air conditioners were so unbelievably loud
2. The deck was dangerous and unsafe, very soft with holes that you can fall through that were covered up by furniture so we wouldnât fall through!
3. There was no a/c on the main floor which made it unbearably hot.
4. The state of the outdoor furniture was utterly disgusting. The chairs were completely filthy and entirely broken. The umbrellas were all broken.
5. The bathroom tub was flooded
6. The bathroom shower curtain was ripped
7. The front door was broken
8. The kitchen faucet completely leaking
9. The back door screen broken with the handle taped
10. Makeshift roof/cover to the outdoor shower was an old loosely hanging shutter that was also unsafe.
We had a great time at the property! We had a full house, 6 adults, 2 kids, an infant and a dog. Everyone had their own space and the common areas were comfortable and spacious. The deck and backyard were amazing--we had several meals alfresco. My elementary age kids loved playing the yard games in the backyard and we made s'mores in the fire pit almost every night. Everything we needed was nearby and several attractions were close. The only downside was that the oven didn't cook very evenly or well (we cooked most of our meals at the house.) It was our first trip to Cape Cod and we had a relaxing and enjoyable time! I would book here again!
