good communication we speak:
DEUTSCH, GERMAN, ENGLISH & RUSSIAN
AROUND: The place is well connected to all other city parts. The neighbourhood around is full of life, an atmosphere that artists like Pablo Picasso or Cartier Bresson would have loved.
In front of the door you experience Old Europe at is best. So you donÂŽt need to listen to a tourist guide who tells you about the great past and the extraordinary of that place. Its still there.
The historic market around the corner is unique and nowhere else in Europe you find places like this for such a price. Try the home made honey and apricot jam from the farmers who come in the morning together with a fresh white bred or the Hungarian Kifli. Also donÂŽt forget the world famous Hungarian Salami. It goes best with yellow paprika, white bred and fresh butter.
The cheese stand on the right side is outstanding and provides you with home made products and fresh milk. Ask for the smoked cheese.
Bring one of the empty glass bottles from my kitchen and the nice woman (speaks English) will fill it up right in front of you with fresh cow or goat milk.
Opposite the cheese stand you find a place where they sell bred and yoghurt. The yoghurt is the best one I ever tasted in my life. They offer it with rasberries, strawberries, peaches and many other tastes.
Ask also for kefir and turorudi rools - its a chream cheese filled chocolate roll. This one will make your day.
Four minutes walk away you can allready enter the famous New York coffeehouse, as big as half a soccer field. But there are other ones around the city who are great too and cheaper.
Just start to stroll throughout the streets and you will love it. To the river Duna you walk arround 6 to 8 minutes. Depends on your speed. In that direction you will find other nice little shops of the neighbourhood.
Dont forget to pack your bathing suits and the best after your arrival is to go to the Szechenyi FĂŒrdo. You can take the tram to Octogon and then change to the second oldest subway in Europe the Földalatti in the direction to Mexico Ut. The station of the thermal bath has the same name like the bath. Its a 15 minutes trip or 6 minutes by taxi. After the first hour in the both bathes, try the Thai Massage for 30 Euro per hour. There are Thai masseuses from Wat Pho in Thailand. You dont get a Thai Massage anywhere else that cheap and good in Europe. Its almost like on the beach of Ko Samui and its very warm on the place they do it. So it feels totally right. After all that get a bottle mineral water out of the machine in the entrance hall. Even better the fresh Orange Juice from another machine, before you leave.
Good place for couples or a family to stay. We like to walk so didnât mind the 40 minute brisk walk to the Chain Bridge. Guess you can take public transportation if you donât like to walk.

Wonderful place to stay
A stylish, centrally located flat with loads of space for our family of 4. Loved our time in Budapest. Thanks
This apartment was just ideal. Because of the Budapest transport, everywhere you stay is ideal. But, as it happened, we had to walk about 20 mts to the closest tram stop - the Metro was also right beside us. It was perfect.
When we arrived, we were overawed by the beauty of this apartment. The third bedroom was a wee bit tight for a double bed, however, it was manageable. The other two bedrooms and living quarters were glorious. There was very little storage and hanging space for five people, so suggest another wardrobe, perhaps? The music speaker and airport utility were fantastic. We didn't use the kitchen much as we were up and away each day - however, we all felt that there could have been another couple of (little) things - more tea mugs, for our midnight brew.
In booking the apartment, contact with Frank was most helpful, re payment etc. There had been no contact till a few days before our arrival, and Frank Rothe contacted us to assure us that all was in order, with excellent illustrations and directions on how to get to and to enter the apartment. Frank also honoured our request for a later check out on our last day, which helped us out no end. Also, it gave us a chance to look around our neighbourhood - well, what a glorious restaurant we found just around the corner from the apartment - I do not remember the name, but it is on the corner of the market and seconds from the Metro station.
Sadly, we had a problem with the toilet. In booking, it seemed that there were two toilets, however, this was not the case and unfortunately, the toilet blocked. There was nothing we had done, in fact, to help matters, we put our paper in a separate bag. The pipes throughout the apartment seemed somewhat slow. I was able to contact Frank about this (he was on email 24/7, it seemed) however, this situation was not resolved. Rather, Frank sent a Youtube video of how to unblock the u-bend under the sink - not something that any of us forty-something women were inclined to do on a four-day break to the wonder that is Budapest.
All in though - I would recommend this apartment to a group of people who were going to Budapest - all things considered, it was excellent. The three stars would have been five, had it not been for the toilet and the storage.
Thanks
