Please forgive me, I accidentally left a 1-star review earlier and haven’t been able to figure out how to remove it. I want to make it clear that I truly enjoyed my stay at Sofitel! In fact, I loved it so much that I extended my trip by two extra nights and chose to continue staying at Sofitel. The service and staff were absolutely wonderful, everyone was very friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable, and while it was a little noisy on the balcony, once the doors were closed, it was very quiet inside. The views were lovely, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The restaurants served great food, we especially enjoyed the Lebanese restaurant and ended up dining there almost every day because the food was so delicious! Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at the Sofitel in Cairo. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—front desk, concierge, and every team member we encountered went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The pool area and gym were well managed, and the spa was truly relaxing. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, making it easy to unwind after exploring the city. The hotel’s location is also excellent, close to everything we needed. Overall, everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we would highly recommend the Sofitel Cairo to anyone visiting the city.

In general the hotel was nice. The food at the Lebanese restaurant was very good! Our hotel room bathroom was a bit dirty and in a state of disrepair (toilet roll holder fell off the wall and was filled with sticky wet glue), hair in the shower drain. Staff were quite friendly.

Awful reception staff- mean, condescending and definitely need training before standing in front of customers to understand their job properly. Particularly Dina and Mohammed. I had booked via Expedia for 1 adult 3 kids ( with the correct ages). Expedia automatically changed it to the required 3 adults and 1 child as per the requirements of the hotel. However - on check in, they refused to let me check in unless I paid $400 as they assumed the booking was for three children. I showed them the terms and conditions of Expedia and they refused - insisting that the breakfast is expensive and that has to be covered hence I should pay $400. Numerous conversations with Dina - showing her the terms but she refused to listen and said she will be kind and charge me $195 instead. They basically said pay this or you can go elsewhere I paid- as I had my family with me - left a bad taste. While leaving the hotel on my last day I spoke to another manager Mohammed -I could tell I was wasting my time. I asked for my money back and he smiled and refused. Advise not to stay in this hotel if you don’t want to ruin your stay. Expedia were not helpful in this matter either - the hotel first responded saying is the policy, second that oh as the reservation was for 3 adults we charged the price for the child. Thankfully being an Accor member helped and they helped with a refund.

Sofitel

The Sofitel is perfectly located in the heart of the city adjacent to the Nile. The entertainment is such that you don't have to leave your hotel if you choose not too. The views of the Nile and sunset are perfect from the 3rd floor. The sunken tub is a dream after a long day of exploring the city. I would highly recommend and will stay here again.

The Hotel will not be my option in future!

I suffered from the daily maintenance by my requested from the hotel for the bathroom and safe, not to mention the hotel staff's indifference to the suffering I experienced in the room, and their disregard for my request to switch rooms or meet with the hospitality team. They explained to me that there were no vacant rooms, but after checking the booking websites, I found approximately seven suites in the same category as mine were vacant. First, the receptionist, named Hussein, acted deceitfully with me, explaining that he had allocated me the best suite room in the hotel. I didn't understand what he meant except that this suite room was free of problems. It makes no sense for him to tell me it was the best suite room when it was similar to all the suites in the same category. I was surprised to find it on the 9th floor, even though I had reserved with access to the Milestone Club. it's supposed to be on the 20th floor or higher. This is where the problems began. The 9th floor is closer to the hustle and bustle of the Corniche than the suites on the upper floors. The safety box doesn't work, even after maintenance. It breaks down the next day, when they replace it after shortly before my stay ended. Of course, but clearly it was of poor quality, as you have to set a password for it every day! The bathroom was another major disaster. The water is always scalding hot in the early morning and water seeping in from the sink and toilet, And so on ! In short, will not back again!
