Hotel Président à Zamalek, Le Caire

Personnel accueillant et sympathique, serviable. Mais première nuit dans une chambre bien en dessous du standard ! Pas de problème cependant pour obtenir dès le lendemain et pour le reste de la semaine une chambre plus grande avec vue sur le Nil, sympa certes, mais vétuste avec sanitaires et salle d'eau en mauvais état de fonctionnement, moquette hors d'usage, clim bruyante. Bon point : restauration ouverte jusque tard dans la nuit, mais médiocre et trop chère, ok pour calmer une petite faim avec un plat de pâtes par exemple ! Globalement un avis très mitigé.

Un accueil impeccable, du personnel pléthorique et disponible, un quartier central (prévoir toutefois les déplacements en taxi)et calme, un très bon petit déjeuner continental, mais une restauration très quelconque et un niveau de propreté et d'entretien global qui n'est pas au niveau des standarts Européens. Les cinq étoiles font-ils mieux?, pas sûr.

The BEST hotel in Zamalek!!

AMAZING. I would give 10 stars if I could. They were very professional and kind and so helpful! The housekeepers were great. Rooms were beautiful and well kept, clean, and astonishing view from the balcony. Zamalek can be noisy but you don’t hear much sound in the rooms so it’s nice and quiet for the most part. Me and my husband LOVED it and we will be coming back! Thank you for making sure we had a nice experience!!

I stayed in this hotel on two separate nights. The first night was in a horribly noisy room and the second night was in an overly hot room in which the AC was not working. In both cases the staff make a show of doing something about the problem, but nothing gets done. The AC repairman came into the room, made a mess removing a panel, then disappeared after concluding that the problem was "downstairs." I was not offered a different room or even an apology and the AC was still broken the next morning. The bellboy watched me carry my heavy suitcases by myself up several flights of stairs into the hotel then expected a tip for rolling them into the elevator and into my room, which I could have done by myself with less effort and delay. The front desk staff need to be trained to speak with guests more politely (yelling "passport" at me during checkin is very rude). Also, giving a person's room key to the bellboy instead of the guest who is checking in is highly inappropriate. I only selected this hotel for its location, but I don't think I'll book with them again.
