In peaceful Prazeres | Quinta InĂĄcia Old Cottage

Set on the peaceful rolling hills below the village Prazeres, overlooking the sea, Quinta Inåcia is a lovely new complex of apartments in Madeira with 3 Studios, the refurbished Old Cottage, and a lovely heated swimming pool, competently and personally run by the two owners, Daniel and Silvério.

Refurbished from the original one on the land, the air conditioned one-bedroom Old Cottage still features the original stonework and has a spacious open-plan living area on the ground floor with sofa-bed, dining table for 4 and a fully equipped kitchen.
The contemporary shower-room is off the sitting area.
The bedroom in an open mezzanine above, leading to its private balcony with two loungers and wonderful views over the countryside and sea.
A covered veranda occupies the front of the cottage, with table and two chairs and the portable barbecue.

The shared heated swimming pool is found on an open lower level, surrounded by a deck and lawn, with wonderful views over the countryside to the sea. Here you will find a lovely covered seating area, as well as shower and toilet facilities.

Daniel and Silvério will always be on hand to insure your every need is catered for and that you will enjoy a wonderfull holiday at Quinta Inåcia.

There are many walks around Prazeres and easy access to the plateau of Paul da Serra, with its many levada walks, makes Quinta InĂĄcia perfectly located for walking in Madeira and for enjoying a lovely holiday surrounded by the beautiful Madeira countryside.

Cleaning
The property is prepared for your arrival. For stays of longer than 7 nights, a change of linen and towels, and light mid-stay cleaning of bathrooms is provided on a day and time to be advised at check-in.
Towels are replaced every 4 days.
For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own.
Guests need to vacate the villa during a mid-stay clean and change of linen.

Nearby
The nearest facilities (a restaurant and café) are a mere 700 metres away, and the village centre (three café/restaurants and the medical centre) is an easy 1Km walk away. 1 Km, by the large roundabout that provides access to the expressway and the motorway system, is a supermarket, café/bakery with cashpoint machine, a further café at the petrol station and a further couple of restaurants.

The nearest chemist is in the sleepy village of Estreito da Calheta, only 5 minute’s drive away (4 Km).

A few minutes by car will take you to the resort town of Calheta, 6 Km from the Quinta InĂĄcia. With its man-made golden beaches, it is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a selection of bars and restaurants, a good branded supermarket, a bank and chemist.
Calheta is famous for producing the best white rum ‘Aguardente’, a special ingredient of the typical Madeiran drink ‘Poncha’. If you are interested in knowing how the white rum is made, we recommend a tour of the ‘Engenho da Calheta’ the rum distillery where you can wander around and sample the produce.
Centro das Artes Casa da Mudas is a new centre located at the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and was built to host superb art exhibitions, musical performances and other events.

15 minutes by car east is Ribeira Brava, the largest town before Funchal, that offers a rocky beach and sea access facilities in addition to a large supermarket and more shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Funchal town is an easy 45-minute drive on the expressway, and the airport a further 15 minutes onwards.

Madeira

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:


Leaving the airport take the motorway (Via Rápida) West in the direction of Funchal and after this to Ribeira Brava. Travel for 34. Km.



When you reach the end of the motorway (approximately 35 minutes) keep on the right hand lane and follow the signs to Ribeira Brava – Ponta do Sol.
The slip road will lead you to a roundabout. Take the first exit to Ribeira Brava and drive towards the sea for 1,4Km. You will reach another roundabout. Take the 1st exit into the tunnel and you will now carry on for 3,9Km until you reach the roundabout of Ponta do Sol.

At the end of the tunnel you will reach another roundabout; take the 2nd exit , signposted Ponta do Sol and drive through another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel.

At the end of this tunnel you will come to the roundabout of Ponta do Sol; on the left you will find a petrol station and mini market. Take the 2nd exit into the next tunnel and drive for 2,8Km.
At the end of the tunnel, at the roundabout, turn sharp right into the next tunnel (signposted Calheta).
At the roundabout (1,6Km), take the first turn-off, signposted to Calheta, drive through the next tunnel for 1,8Km.

Reaching the next roundabout, take the second exit following signs to Calheta and through another tunnel until you reach the Calheta roundabout (2,5Km).
Go straight across (2nd exit) , signposted Prazeres (don’t turn left into Calheta) and enter a further tunnel, driving for 2,3Km.

When reaching the next roundabout, where you will find a BP Petrol Station, take the third turnoff indicated “Prazeres”, “Lombo da Rocha”, “Hotel”





At the end of the slip road there is a T-junction with the supermarket “Meu Super” in front. Turn left here.

Drive down this country road for approximately 400 metres and after passing a stone house on the left, and just before the road bears right and an open car park, you come to a left turn. Turn left here.
Carry on for approximately 300m, over the expressway and driving along this winding country road, until you come to a wooden gate on your right, no47, Quinta Inácia.

You have reached Quinta Inácia. Please press the buzzer and drive in when the gate is opened. Silverio or Daniel will be there to receive you and show where you should

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay. Best place to calm down and relaxe, while enjoying the ocean view. Especially Silverios kind and friendly manner was remarkabale. Good place for children as well.

This location is gorgeous, the hosts are wonderful and we had an unforgettable time. Everything you could need is provided at the property, along with access to a beautiful saltwater pool overlooking the sea.

Einzigartiges Ferienhaus

Das „old cottage“ liegt auf einem wunderschönen und liebevoll gepflegten GrundstĂŒck mit Blick ĂŒber den Atlantik. Das kleine charmante und ruhige Dorf Prazeres lĂ€dt zum erkunden ein. Die Ferienwohnung war sehr sauber, die Inhaber sehr gute und sympathische Gastgeber. Wir haben uns wĂ€hrend unseres einwöchigen Aufenthalts pudelwohl gefĂŒhlt. Das Bett ist sehr gemĂŒtlich, super Matratze! Insgesamt sind wir froh dieses SchmuckstĂŒck entdeckt zu haben!

Old Cottage - ein gemĂŒtlicges HĂ€uschen

Wir verbrachten im Mai 2019 eine wunderschöne Woche in Quinta Inacia. Das alte HĂ€uschen ist aufwendig restauriert und sehr hĂŒbsch eingerichtet mit allem, was man so braucht. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen 😊 Eva und Markus
