Surrounded by farm animals, noisy and barely maintained.
Please be really careful when renting this house:
It's within a farm!
The description doesn't say that there are several rooster cocks around the house, screaming at 4am, 6am and so on every day. The description forgets also to say that there is a 90km/h road at 60m! So it's almost like having your vacation in a highway rest area. It's not written that the direct neighbors are farmers, working all along the day in front of the house with the truck (noisy and diesel smelly), and that their 2 dogs like to bark the evening or during the night. The description should say it but it doesn't.
A lot of furniture were completely worn (pool mattresses, shutter, bedsheets, sun umbrella), some door handles were broken when we arrived. The bedsheets were old and not really clean. After a dozen of emails (with pictures I had to send) and 8 nights (on 14) they finally changed and repaired some stuffs. After 8 nights. It's not acceptable.
The cleaning was not good. We found lemon slices in the garden, spiderwebs in the first floor with a global musty smell in the rooms in that floor. Most of the dishes need to be cleaned again as they had a lot of dust and some had stains on them.
Those are the proofs that nobody is coming regularly to see the state of the house and maintain it. No checkin, no checkout, nothing.
All of this is giving you the strong feeling that the owner is only here to take the money. We feel scammed. And once we were here with our kids we couldn't move anywhere.
Moreover:
-it's an old house with thick walls and a tile roof. It heats a lot during the day and when the sun is down, it's hard to make the outside air coming inside. In one word: it's an oven. If you're sensitive with your sleeping temperature, don't expect to sleep well a single night during the summer. If you're tall also, bed lenghts are 1m90 so you have to sacrifice a twin bed to sleep in diagonal. So it becomes impossible for 10 people.
-Accessing it during the night is quite tricky as you have to check the milestones or the GPS to be sure not to miss the entrance of the farms but at this level it's a detail.
Positive points:
-The house is big.
-The pool is big.
