Perfect place for discovering Toscany

This place let you dream with eyes open .The view is incredible, the houses are both perfect with everything inside and the terasses give you the oportunity to enjoy the view and the nature.The swimming pool is great also.All around you have very good restaurants (da Giomo my favorite) and the small village of Matraia is very nice and very close (great for bread and food).But the most attractive element is certainly Marina which will guide you in the region. We spend great vacations !!,

A perfectly relaxing stay full of rustic charm, with a view over the valley more than worth the winding climb up the north Tuscan hills. The ever-effusive Marina was very helpful and really made our stay special. The cure from the salt water pool is spectacular and this is only shared with one other holiday rental, so always plenty of tine and space to swim. We would gladly return!

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir waren im August zu Gast bei Marina und Paolo und es war traumhaft. Die Kommunikation vor Beginn unseres Urlaubs war bereits sehr nett. Als wir nach vielen Stunden Autofahrt endlich in der Ferienwohnung angekommen sind wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und uns wurde eine wunderschöne, sehr saubere Ferienwohnung ĂŒbergeben. Bei Fragen stand uns Marina immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Ob es um die Reservierung zum Abendessen ging oder allgemeine Fragen sie war immer fĂŒr uns da. Unsere Tochter hat sich besonders am wunderschönen, großen Pool erfreut denn wir auch abends nach einem Ausflug noch nutzen durften. Es war einfach herrlich! Der gesamte Garten war top gepflegt und wir hatten mehrer Möglichkeiten draußen zu sitzen. Auch ein Grill stand uns zur VerfĂŒgung. Ich wĂŒrde jederzeit wieder zu den beiden fahren. Wir haben unseren Urlaub genossen und uns sehr gut erholt. Vielen Dank Marina und Paolo fĂŒr die schöne Zeit bei euch❀

Oase zum WohlfĂŒhlen

Die Unterkunft hatte alles, was wir brauchten. Sie liegt sehr ruhig mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf das Tal. Trotzdem ist sie zentral fĂŒr AusflĂŒge, z. B. nach Lucca - einfach wunderschön, nach Siena, Pisa oder die in kleinen aber feinen Orte der Umgebung, wie z. B. Montecarlo oder die Sommerresidenz von Bonapartes Schwester. Nach Wanderungen oder AusflĂŒgen lĂ€dt der Salzwasserpool zur Erfrischung ein. Die Gastgeber sind sehr fĂŒrsorglich und unterstĂŒtzend. Sie sind immer erreichbar, bestellen auch einen Tisch in einheimischen GaststĂ€tten. In der Ferienwohnung liegt ein Informationsordner mit Hinweisen ĂŒber interessante AusflĂŒge. Insgesamt haben wir den Urlaub sehr genossen.

Abbiamo avuto un buon tempo Nelly casa “I’ll Forno”.Prima abbiamo nostra vista sull’altra casa,purtroppo c’era Gia prenotata.”I’ll forno” era piacevole dotato di tutte le commodity e una vista stulpende sulle valle. Purtroppo la casa era per noi con tutti I passi faticoso.,bel giardino,un bel posticino ma dappertutto grading. A wonderful stay in a dream location!

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The location is great whether you want to just stay by the pool and enjoy the incredible views over Lucca or venture out with a car to visit nearby places (Lucca ~25mins drive, Florence ~1hr drive, Pisa <1hr). Marina is an absolutely lovely hostess and she's put together a very useful information pack which you'll find in the accommodation when you arrive. The accommodation itself is very cosy with a rustic Tuscan theme which feels very authentic and welcoming. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment (coffee machine, dishwasher, all kinds of utensils, there was some salt/pepper/oil which had been left by previous guests) so you won't be missing anything once you've done a food shop (there's a great supermarket, Esselunga di Marla ~15mins drive away). The gardens around the accommodation are beautiful and there are several different possible locations to enjoy a meal or drink outside, one of which includes a barbecue.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in der Toskana

Wir wurden ĂŒberaus freundlich von Marina und Paolo empfangen. Man hat vom Haus einen wunderbaren Blick auf das Tal. Bei klarer Sicht kann man hinter den Bergen sogar das Meer erkennen. Lucca ist in ca. 25 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen, ein gut sortierter Supermarkt in 15, ein kleiner Dorfladen, in dem es das Nötigste gibt, in 5 Minuten. Zahlreiche Osterias befinden sich in der NĂ€he. Das Haus ist - wie beschrieben - mit allem Komfort eingerichtet, auch der WLAN-Anschluss funktioniert tadellos. Der Pool und die Außenanlagen sind perfekt gepflegt. Alles in allem haben wir einen großartigen 14tĂ€gigen Urlaub auf dem Anwesen von Marina und Paolo verbracht. Vielen Dank dafĂŒr.

Wunderschöner Urlaub in traumhafter Umgebung

Wir haben wunderschöne zwei Wochen bei Marina und Paolo verbracht. Das Haus und der Pool sind sauber und sehr gepflegt, die Aussicht traumhaft und Marina und Paolo sind sehr herzlich, freundlich und zuvorkommend! Auch unsere Kinder haben sich sehr wohlgefĂŒhlt und die Zeit sehr genossen. Wenn wir mal wieder in dieser Gegend Urlaub machen, dann auf jeden Fall bei Marina und Paolo!

Unvergessliche Tage in der Toskana

Gerne denken wir an den traumhaft schönen Urlaub bei Marina und Paolo zurĂŒck. Das wunderbare Anwesen liegt oberhalb von Lucca, so dass man eine tolle Aussicht genießen kann. Die beiden Ferienwohnungen sind in separaten HĂ€usern, so dass jeder seine PrivatsphĂ€re hat. Der Pool, der ebenfalls eine tolle Aussicht auf Lucca bietet, ist super. Liegen sind genĂŒgend vorhanden und unsere Töchter konnten sogar spĂ€t abends noch baden gehen. Marina hat uns sehr gute Tipps gegeben und schöne Restaurants fĂŒr uns reserviert.

Family friendly gem in a quiet village

We had great time with Marina, Paolo. Before we arrived, Marina has prepared everything for my daughter. We even got a bottle of wine and home made fig jam upon our arrival. The villa itself is very beautiful with rustic Tuscany touch. It's extremely clean and equipped more than enough for a holiday villa. The location of the villa is on top of a hilly mountain. The driving isn't for fainted heart. But once you are used to it, its fine. The view is spectacular. It only takes 25mins to Lucca and an hour to beaches. Marina and Paolo are very friendly. They recommended us places for food and visits. My daughter enjoyed playing with the dog and cat, chasing after ants by the pool. I would definitely recommend the villa.

Herzlicher Empfang, zuvorkommend vom 1. Kontakt an, liebevolle Einrichtung, komplette Ausstattung, stilgerechtes Anwesen, gute Matratzen, sauber und gepflegt, eine Ruhe, die ihresgleichen sucht, fantastische Aussicht ĂŒber die Ebene von Lucca. Cozy cottage with magnificent view and pool!

Our family of 4 stayed for a week in Il Forno and though it is the smaller cottage, it fit us well and was a good starting point to our daily travels. Also we were lucky enough to have some sunny days in October and relax in the pool with great views on Lucca! Marina and Paolo are amazing hosts - very warm, welcoming and helpful! They had a welcoming treat for us and booked us dinners in nice local restaurants, which you can reach by foot and have tasty meals at reasonable price. Their garden on the hillside is beautiful and peaceful, a perfect spot for countryside vacation, but still close enough to local villages and ancient town of Lucca. Understandably, with a gorgeous view comes a steep (and narrow) road up to the house, so you better have a smaller car and great driving skills. But it is totally worth it and also gets easier every time. Tuscan roads are a real driving lesson. :) Our children loved the place, especially the pool, but also Marina's dog and cats were special favourites of ours. It is a great place for rustic vacation, where we would definitely love to return! Grazie mille, Marina and Paolo, and lots of love from all of us!

This is an absolutely wonderful place with the most charming and helpful hosts

We spent a wonderful week in mid-October 2018. We were well cared for by our charming and helpful hosts, Marina and Poulo, who made us feel like friends of the house, and, to our surpise, also offered us to take part in a course on Tuscan cooking. The house had all modern conveniences and kitchen utensils.The three rooms of our house were well-furnished and suited the traditional, rustic design of the house, which, despite its age, is perfectly modernised and comfortable inside. The cleaning of the house, including bathroom and kitchen, was pefect. We enjoyed the two patios and the garden and the marvelous view over the valley and down to Lucca. We would love to return. Lovely rustic & rural cottage...but still close to many tourist attractions

We had a lovely week at Il Forno. If you love rural cottages then this is a real gem. c10 miles outside Lucca but you feel "away from it all" and with many cities/attractions within 90 mins drive from the property (Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre) you can decide how active/inactive you want to be. Although the weather was fairly hot it was great to return to the pool each evening to cool off. Marina and Paulo made us feel most welcome and provided a welcome package including fresh vegetables from the garden..

We had an amazing stay and such wonderful views from this Mountain top cottage!

We have just returned from a lovely stay at this property. We are a family of four and would recommend it for the peace, tranquility, easy access to Florence (1 hour), Pisa (45mins) and Lucca (20mins). It is a great spot to access Tuscany and also a wonderful place to return to and the pool is fabulous with views across the valley to the Mountains the other side. Maria and Pablo (the owners) are wonderful hosts and very helpful. In the surrounding local village we ate the most amazing food with great views across the valley. Just to note, the roads are very narrow and the driveway to the property is rather steep and rugged - we have rather a low sitting rental car and not sure how the bottom of the car survived! So would recommend a narrow high up hire car! you can see why the Fiat 500 come from Italy! Thank you Maria and Pablo and we would love to come back again sometime! Lucy & Family
