The property was nice but the front desk reception staff was a bit rude. Didn’t explain any procedures to us when we arrived such as how to use the room key (not intuitive), when and how breakfast was served. Unable to get continental breakfast figured out for us after two tries (two mornings). No paper menu on the second day so we couldn’t order as we got in pretty late. Then they charged us €50 for room service because we didn’t fill out the form. What?? Spa services were a different story. They were amazing, accommodating, warm, friendly, nice, respectful. Best experience on the property bar far! Lastly, I needed a few articles of clothing to get cleaned/laundered and they said they could take care of that. It appeared that afternoon in a pretty box and the clothes smelled so fresh. However, at checkout I was appalled to find a €315 bill for clothes cleaning. Come on! No way a half load of laundry cost that much to get clean! I take full responsibility for not asking more questions on the front end, but seriously. I’ll never go back or recommend this place for a stay to a friend. Spa services were amazing! Everything else wasn’t.

Dear Mrs Kyle, first of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback We do owe an apology if the associate at check in has not been very informative. He/she should have told you that breakfast was served at the restaurant but once there it is pretty intuitive as we have a buffet and the staff is always there to assist with hot drinksAs for the key, it might be little tricky but at the end it is just like a regular one, you insert it and turn it in order to open the door. The 50 euro charge you have on the bill is not for the room service. You had a pasta and a burger in the room on the 24th. Breakfast in the room on the 27th has not been charged as breakfast was includedLaundry: the service might be considered expensive but inside the wardrobe there was the list that you have filled with the number of items and next to each piece there is the cost for dry cleaning, ironing or wash & dryIt is very well described I was instead truly delighted to learn your positive comments about the Spa Services and I am extremely glad that you have enjoyed the atmosphere of the place These are not supposed to be execuses but only wanted to explain you what had happenedWe completely understand how distressfull it might have been Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay as we strive to constantly improve our standards and enhance our guest experience.Graziella ArbaGeneral Manager

Expected more / poor value for money.

Stay was okay but was expecting more out of this resort, felt kind of stuck there with such a lack of activities compared to some other similar places, and the management takes advantage of this with price gauging at every F&B outlet which is short-sighted and not good for the place's reputation.

The property was amazing. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. The location was great. Somewhat off the beaten path but close enough to plenty. On-site restaurants were really good!

Great hotel mediocre service

Great stay, beautiful hotel - only thing which was suboptimal was the service, which was not to the standard of a “leading hotel of the world” - not attentive nor observant had run after things to get done etc - slightly annoying but the rest of the stay was lovely

Loved our stay!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Castel Monastero! The whole staff was delightful - so thoughtful and attentive. We were there for 4 nights, ate breakfast at the hotel every morning, spent time by the gorgeous pool, had amazing massages, and overall just loved the experience! We booked a Prestige Room and it had an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. The room, bathroom, and closet were a great size for the two of us - plenty of space! I would definitely come back here and sincerely want to thank the hotel staff for making our stay so special!

It is an absolutely beautiful hotel hidden away in Tuscany. We wish we had more time to spend there.
