Simple, clean, comfortable

I had a comfortable stay for two nights in Köln Messe. It was nice to have a modern spacious room. It was appointed with just the right, basic touches. That’s what I needed in the price and I got that.

Even the non-"budget" Ibis is rather budget

Cons: only a couple power outlets in room, and not close to bed/nightstands. Weird pod-like bathroom. No dressers or mini-fridge, so fairly small and spartan room. Location is fair for tram but a hike for the trains. Very few walkable places around the hotel, more industrial area. At one point in morning, staff actually entered our room while we were still trying to sleep, which annoyed us. Pros: nice, posh lobby. Modern and good condition rooms and beds.
