We really enjoyed our stay in this quiet farmhouse overlooking the lush Iowa farm land. We were really happy to see that they supplied coffee, too. Great place for a quiet weekend with the family.
The house was super clean! We just stayed as we were passing through, but it was gorgeous and if we would have planned better we would have taken advantage of the trails, river, etc.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we got to re-learn how to use a dvd player! Highly recommend.
We wanted a country location, quiet, and it was very quiet. However, the old kitchen sink and bathroom were far from clean. My husband would not use the shower. I did after cleaning it & water pressure is fine. The place looks to be in process of renovation but unfinished. Mattress sagged but linens were clean. Bedrooms upstairs, bathroom/laundry room downstairs. Deep cleaning, a decent mattress and clean furniture would make a world of difference.
We needed somewhere to stay for the night on our road trip. We wanted something out of the city and affordable. When I saw this house, it instantly reminded me of my great aunt's house in the hills of West Virginia. In person, it was just as expected. The house is older and could use some updating, but it was clean and tidy. The to-do list for check out was the easiest we've had at any VRBO. Everyone wanted the newer memory foam mattress, but since it's the smallest of the options, the baby got it. The other beds were firmer than our preference, but we all slept well anyway. *** For prospective customers: upstairs is considerably warmer than down, even with the AC on. In my experience this is common with older houses. I'd recommend bringing a small fan for each bedroom. There is only 1 up there. It works well, but something for the other bedrooms would be helpful. Also, the tub is stained and looks dirty, but I'm pretty sure it's just from the well water. Again, I've seen this at every older country home we've been in(family or otherwise). Lastly, the outside smells like a farm. It didn't bother us as we're used to it, but I wanted to point it out so it doesn't surprise anyone. If you go in knowing this is a country farm house and not a city high-end hotel, you'll be just fine. The views are lovely, the stars bright, and the quiet atmosphere is relaxing.
