Luxury Bayfront Home with 6 Bedrooms, Private Pool, Jacuzzi - Tidal Wave

Tidal Wave is easily one of the finest beach houses available on Dauphin Island. This is a large 6 bedroom, 4 and a half baths on an over-sized Bayfront lot with its own sandy beach, pool, and jacuzzi overlooking the Bay to the north, and a partial Gulf view to the south. The pool is heated, upon request, for an additional fee - $100 per day. This is a wonderful home to host family reunions or for a large group.

The property does allow weddings and events for an event fee.

This fabulous home has an eat-in kitchen, formal dining room seating up to 16, beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico and the MS Sound.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!

Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is NOT pet-friendly.

Another excellent stay at Tidal Wave! Every type of water our group could want, easily accessible—pool, lagoon, bay beach, gulf beach. Several spacious rooms to retreat to, as well as places to gather. The giant sectional is the stuff of legends. The addition of a second fridge this year made keeping our forever hungry and thirsty kids happy a breeze. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great Stay

This was a beautiful home and a wonderful place to stay. Each bedroom was well put together most with their own bathroom which was great for our family! The location is superb and having access to our own little section of beach was wonderful. We could of spent our entire stay just at the property and had plenty to do if we wanted. Highly recommend and plan to return in the future!

Safety is a concern

Our family enjoyed the spaciousness of this home and the easy access to both the bay and the gulf beaches. Several rooms have been updated. There are two washers and two dryers which was also nice. However if you are thinking about renting please read on
.the house needs a lot of repairs. The pictures on VRBO are misleading. There are broken windows upstairs, a closet door fell off, the ice maker doesn’t work. There are areas on the pool deck that are rotted or the rusty nails have pulled out of planks and they pop up when you step on the other end. We marked areas with painters tape where our children weren’t allowed. The gate from the main deck to the pool lost all the screws in the top hinge so we were unable to close it correctly. I notified our contact and was told that there were never any screws in that hinge...it was four days before it was repaired. We had five children with us. I don’t consider this acceptable. We used all three bunk beds, only one had a functional ladder. We requested that the missing hardware be replaced on the other two. We were told this was a liability issue, new ladders had been ordered. We never saw them. The kitchen is well stocked but the oven does not heat correctly. Preheating took about an hour and it never reached the desired temperature requested. Outside doors on the back deck don’t always close. Some won’t lock. We have rented beach homes for over 20 years. This is the first time safety has been an issue.

Perfect Choose Your Own Adventure Launchpad

I cannot imagine a better spot for a large group with varied interests and abilities! It was just as easy to cozy up and enjoy the view with the infants, as it was to splash in the gentle bay and chase hermit crabs with the toddlers, fish in the lagoon with the teens, or splash in the pool with the tweens. There are enough rooms for everyone to have a quiet home base, and the common areas are spacious and inviting for everyone to gather and have the BEST time. We could not have enjoyed our stay more!

Beautiful Location- Relaxing Stay

The house is very spacious with lots of comfortable areas to relax in. The kitchen was very nice as it was in "cook ready shape." We made dinner every night since the kitchen had the tools to be able to accomplish that. The view and the secluded nature of the house was also wonderful. There are minor cosmetic updates that need tending to (the pool deck and pool itself as well as the laundry room area), however overall the home is very welcoming and comfortable. The onsite property mgmr was awesome!! Super accommodating of our group needs. We will definitely be back in the future!!

Has Potential

Clean, easy access, comfy beds, quick response, great home layout. Plenty of room for our family of 14. But this home needs some love. Water spots/mold on ceilings on both floors, decking has some pretty weak areas and chipping paint, some doors to outside don’t lock others won’t unlock some don’t shut. Closet door and cabinet door falling/fell off. Pool/hot tub leak to wear hose has to stay in/running. And with pictures it looks like front is on the ocean/beach and back on bay. You technically have to walk down drive across street to a beach access. Just needs some love to be at the price point that it is. We understand things aren’t going to be perfect, but as our family with 8 adults have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals this one just wasn’t up to par.

Friends and family getaway

We had a great time at the house. It's big enough to accommodate everyone. Only downside was the jets not working in the hot tub and the pool not being heated until 2 days into our trip. (that was my fault partly as I thought it was heated until may). Anyways the location was great, we saw dolphins playing while we sat on the deck. The house was clean and they answered any and all calls and questions right away. If I can afford it I will be back. Absolutely beautiful

Spacious and close to the beach and the bay

We enjoyed our stay! We had 4 families with children and my mom and we had plenty of room to hang out and spread out. The heated pool and hot tub were perfect for the kids and late night swims. We enjoyed how close we were to the beach and the bay... a quick walk across the street to the beach. The area was quiet and serene and the stay exceeded our expectations.

Spring Break!

We loved this house! The size was perfect for our large group. The heated pool and hot tub were awesome and views off the decks were amazing. There was so much space and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and silverware. Having two washers and dryers was perfect! When we had an issue with the hot tub the property communicated promptly and Dave came over and fixed it right away! He was greatâ˜ș We will definitely be back!

Amazing Getaway

Decent stay

The kitchen is not fully stocked to have enough for the amount of ppl that could stay there. Specially not enough cups or forks. Things are arranged very oddly in the kitchen. Felt like we were searching more than anything. The ice maker on the fridge couldn’t keep up. The toilet in the master bathroom upstairs leaks. The WiFi isn’t good it was very spotty which was hard when some still needed to make work calls. The door to the balcony in the bunk room upstairs wouldn’t open. The balcony doors in the master bedroom leaked and had puddles when it rained. It also leaked around the windows in the downstairs bunk room and around the windows in the dinning room. The pool and hot tub was probably the worst they were the reason we rented the house. It wasn’t heated when we got there even though I paid extra for it. The hot tub never really got hot. The pool was good then the maintenance ppl came and it was cold again for like 2 days before they came out and fixed it again and it got warmer but the hot tub is not hot! I guess that is the biggest issue I had because we paid extra for that! The beds were not great! Some of the outside chairs are broken. We had a nice time but wouldn’t stay here again like it is. The kitchen is definitely big so that’s good and it has a pantry to put stuff. We all loved the couch it was bug enough for almost all of us!!

Needs a good maintenance walk through

January / February 2021 stay. A lot of my review is nitpicking. If this was my house or rental property I would like these things fixed or addressed to give the property that extra it needs to be better then others and keep the wow going after you look through the place and start to see some imperfections. The inside is good. It could use a fresh coat of paint, carpet shampoo and some tender love and care. Several lightbulbs, both outside and inside need replacement. The deck around the pools need to be sanded and sealed. I would recommend water shoes around the pool for there is a good chance of splinters. Also some deck boards are loose. An upgrade idea for the rental company... place some plexiglass under the railings on the spindles or in place of them to help block the wind. Also insulate the hot tub, pool, and pipes to make them more efficient. (could reduce the $50 per day charge to have it heated in winter) The decks, front & back, near the house could use a good pressure washing and sealing. Several doors’ hardware could use some attention. Either rusted where replacement is needed or some lubrication to ease operation and slow the rusting from the sea salt in the air. There is some storm damage to the houses siding and the back board walk and deck all washed away. I understand that takes time for the insurance to get their things done and schedule a contractor that has an opening to fit the job into their schedule and replace it. Another suggestion for the rental company... have a guest book of sorts and allow prior guests to leave a note for the next guests about some of their experiences and tidbits on the island or area. All in all we enjoyed our stay and there is plenty of room for larger families. The house has what we needed for our stay.

A great house for a family gathering!!

We loved coming to the west end of Dauphin Island. We were amazed that the property was in such great shape after all of the hurricanes/storms this past season. Our family loved the pool and the first two days the pool was heated and everyone had so much fun. Even though the boardwalk had been damaged by the hurricane, we enjoyed trekking out to both sides of the island, looking for seashells and enjoying the beauty of the water. The kitchen was wonderful, we had plenty of seating and dishes and utensils. When we asked for a toaster, we received it. The internet did not work well, it could have been from the storms. The house could use a really good scrubbing and windexing to get ready for the new year. We loved the space, the location, and the overall ambiance!! Thanks, Dauphin Island Rentals!!

Fantastic Views, Somewhat Remote

The location is breathtaking--excellent water views! The home is spacious and has great amenities. The public beach is within walking distance. The owners were very responsive and helpful; quickly addressing any immediate needs. However, cleanliness could be much better and the house is due for some repairs and general maintenance. There was some outside damage caused by a recent hurricane but it was not a major inconvenience. Tip: You may want to consider stocking up on supplies before leaving the mainland as options are limited on the island.
