About the History
This is a historical home with the desired combination of charm, character, and history that creates what is known as the "Cape Cod Feel". Formerly home in the 1800's to the Shiverick Shipyard, where Clipper Ships were once built, this area played an important role in the sea captain era. Steeped in history, the neighborhood called "Sesuit Neck" is designated as a Historic District preserving Dennis' agricultural lands and heritage and is centrally located on the bay side of the Cape by Cape Cod Bay to the North, Sesuit Harbor to the East, and Sesuit Creek to the South.
About the Pearl
There are two sides to this historical beauty: one is the historical Port Side of the house (right side), and the other side, built more recently, is what we refer to as the Starboard Side of the house (left side). Although they are attached, they have separate entrances and living quarters.
The Port Side of the house (right side) has 4 bedrooms (Master bedroom with King-sized bed, 1 bedroom with 1 Full-sized bed and 1 Twin bed, 1 bedroom with 2 Twin beds and 1 bedroom with Twin bed on the first floor), and 2.5 bathrooms, a cozy living room with fireplace, a TV room, large indoor dining area that seats 12, and a large kitchen.
The Starboard side of The Pearl (left side) offers 5 large bedrooms including the Master Suite with sitting room, all with comfortable beds (3 bedrooms with King-sized beds, 1 bedroom with a Full-sized bed and 1 bedroom with a Full-sized bed and additional Twin bed) and 3 full bathrooms, a large open living room with a ping-pong table and piano, a galley kitchen, large indoor dining area and comfortable outdoor seating. Rinse off after a day at the beach with the outdoor shower.
The inground swimming pool is available mid-May through mid-October. However, both sides of the home have their own fire pits, outdoor dining area and laundry facilities. The gas grill is shared by both sides of the home.
This listing is for renting both sides of the whole house. Each half of the house is available to rent individually. Please ask for more information when you inquire. Also ask about the use of the Separate Office Outbuilding designed specifically for those who need privacy to do some work on vacation for an additional cost.
For Beach Lovers
Dennis has many of the best beaches the Cape has to offer, along with some of the most spectacular sunsets on the Cape, powdered sand, views of Cape Cod's tip at Provincetown, and miles of bayside horizon. Nearby public beaches include: Corporation, Chapin Memorial, Mayflower, Howes, and Scargo beach. At low tide on Mayflower Beach, you can walk for miles on the tidal flats, making it both a prime spot for photographers and sunset-chasers alike. The tidal flats form pools to explore and provide extra space for a few hours.
What's Nearby
Walk over to Marshside Restaurant for dinner and cocktails with fantastic views overlooking scenic Sesuit Creek. Famous Sesuit Harbor Cafe is a popular spot for picnic dining outside with your favorite seafood plate, where you can watch boats come and go from the Northside Marina at Sesuit Harbor, the largest on Cape Cod Bay.
Two miles down the road on the Old Kings Highway, (Route 6A), is the quaint Village of Dennis for shopping, dining, museums, coffee shops and bakery, local ice cream spots, antique stores, gift shop boutiques and more. The Cape Playhouse in Dennis, one of the best-known summer-stock theaters in the eastern United States, is an historic favorite as well. Also residing on the Cape Cod Center for the Arts is the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The Museum preserves the work of the Cape's finest artists and celebrates the distinctive artistic identity of the Cape, the Islands and the region. Their art collection is outstanding and they offer diverse programming including a Summer Youth Program with art classes by the day in the summer months.

Autumn on Cape Cod
Come explore Cape Cod's second summer and enjoy beautiful cooler weather with milder temps â but without the crowds. Cape Cod's shoulder season should not be missed, with its endless shimmering ocean views contrasting against the season's vibrant rich fall foliage and vermillion-saturated cranberry bogs. Escape the long lines and enjoy the Cape's outdoor activities, along with some solitude. From a fresh lobster dinner to succulent oysters, enjoy dining al fresco on outdoor decks and patios well into the season. There is nothing quite like a beach day in autumn, where the beaches are less crowded and the ocean temps remain warm into September. As fall progresses with cooler days, bundle up for a refreshing walk along the seashore. Spend afternoons kayaking, canoeing or paddle-boarding our waters, chartering a fishing boat and engaging in some recreational fishing, going on a whale watch excursion, hiking nature trails or sailing off into some of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. Some of the locals consider this the best time of year on the Cape!

Avis pour Huge Family Friendly Estate~Pool, Near Bay Beaches
This home is everything it says it is, we had a couple little things that we had to contact them about and they were right on top of it. Beautiful home.
The Pearl was perfect for our extended family vacation, ages 1- 74! The many bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces allowed our group to spread out and have privacy when needed. Having two kitchens was an added bonus. There were several indoor and outdoor spaces that allowed us to come together as a large group as well. We enjoyed dinners at the large patio table. The fire pit and pool were hits for the kids pre/post beach. The kids also loved the big, shaded backyard and swings. We enjoyed being able to talk and bike to Marshside Restaurant and Sesuit Harbor- the cafe and Harborview beach were highlights. The owner/property manager were very responsive and helpful. We had a truly wonderful Cape week, thanks to The Pearl. We hope to be back next year!
Our biggest issue was the uncleanliness of the property. The property was not cleaned properly, and there was visible dirt or grime in various areas. There were dead bugs in various rooms. The base boards and areas behind furniture were the worst places to find dead bugs and dirt. It was clear these areas of the home were not cleaned. There were not enough paper towels in the house. The outside pool area was not clean when we arrived. We had to clean the pool ourselves before the kids could get in. We would not recommend the property for this reason.
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property with our kids and parents. The kitchens were great and there was enough space for 15 of us to be comfortable. Easy walk to Marshside Restaurant and around the corner from the beach and the Harbor. Very special property!
We loved our stay at this house. Many pros:
- location is great north of 6A. We walked to great restaurants like The Marshside, beautiful Sesuit Harbor cafe, Lost Dog, umami pizza shop, etc. Convenient 7/11 walking distance away
- heated pool and ramp into pool for the little ones were perfect for lazy days where we didnât want to pack up for the beach
- beautiful kid friendly bay side beach less than a mile away- no parking without resident sticker but we dropped off stuff and walked
- loved having two kitchens and separated spaces while also having big enough areas to gather altogether
Everything about this stay was awesome. From Theresa checking in with us ahead of our stay to make sure we were all set - the great location for bay side activities - and the huge yard and pool with views of the Marsh. This was an incredible place for our large group to get together and enjoy all that this house and Dennis has to offer. We can't wait to go back.
We stayed with a number of friends and family. Enjoyed the large place and pool.
Odd layout with two smaller kitchens and various rooms, but it worked fine.
This was an ideal property for our multi-generational family trip to Cape Cod, with several bedroom options on multiple floors and with the two connected houses, when the youngest kids were put to bed those that were still awake were able to socialize in another part of the rambling house out of earshot. The pool was refreshing and the access to washers and dryers were convenient. One night we enjoyed making sâmores in one of the fire pits. All in all, a great property where we made wonderful memories.
