The Hotel is Amazing and Beautiful. The staff especially Jiignesh and Mujtaba made the stay even better. They treated us like royalty 🙏. The Hotel is located perfect to go everywhere. Is right at the center of all attractions. We definitely going again.

The view was nice and the staff were all friendly, however.. While staying here after the second day there was a leak. The leak spread from The bathroom into the room beside the minibar and the bed. This left the carpet wet, and was uncomfortable to walk on. After fixing the leak and trying to dry and cover the mess.. Instead of compensating me for the inconvenience I was given some fruit and around a mere 80 aed off the entire bill. I never actually got any discount because the deposit I put down was held and posted then they also charged me again for what was supposed to be what I paid at checkout. I should have been cleared of the other posted transaction, instead now I’m being told I have to wait for the other transaction. I hope this isn’t the average encounter here but this was my experience. I have never had an experience like this in my travels. All other hotels I have stayed at my deposits were always immediately released and if there was a problem with my room I got a complimentary upgrade. They did not seem interested in making sure I was comfortable and treated fairly as a guest. Regardless of a leak being out of their control I expect near perfection from a 5 star hotel.

The property is nice, location is convenient enough. However, what sets this Shanghai-La apart was their management team and the hotel staffs, we felt genuinely welcomed and every staffs that we came across was very friendly and hospitable. Especially Horizon Club staffs Janeth, Rajiv and Keith, they all served us exceptionally well, a beyond 5 star service especially from Janeth, on our very last afternoon Janeth personally cut and prepared a fruit platter for us and had made us tea to go just before we checked out, we were deeply touched by their outstanding services. House keeping Aslam not only placed a vase with roses in our room but had left a handwritten note to thank us, very nice personal touch. Managers at the lobby performed equally well, very accommodating and have arranged a late checkout for us without our request, our flight was 1:55am in the morning, being able to relax in our room and the Horizon Lounge had made our stay at this Shangri-La Dubai extra relaxing and comfortable. Overall, we are more than satisfied with everyone’s service at this hotel. We initially stayed three nights but had returned for additional three nights at this hotel solely because of the staff’s excellent and exceptional services. Great job everyone at the Shanghai-La Dubai, your upper management should be very proud of all of you and the hotel!

Best service in 40 countries I have visited I did not like the air freshener in entire hotel. The scent was unpleasant Need a fruity scent would be better.
