We absolutely loved it! Yes, it's a bit older but the room decor was whimsical and fun. The room was clean, staff was excellent and polite every time we needed extra towels and bed sheets. Will definitely book again!!
First there is no way to lock the door from the inside, you can only lock it from the outside. In addition, we walked in and the gentleman at the front asked us if we are staying in our specific room number. We never met or talked to this guy, in addition he said when the bar was completely open to the hotel. As two females traveling alone this place did not feel safe. We needed up driving over three hours home and left right away.
I thought this would be a cool old building with a view. Instead it was a dirty old building with lots of P U. Itâs got loads of potential but you canât sleep on dirty potential. Some clean up and remodeling would go a long way.
Elevator was broken BUT I was alerted & told I could cancel my reservation w/o any penalty. I stayed anyway (a couple flights of stairs was good exercize). TV did not work properly in my initial room BUT was given a better room with a good TV. Staff did their best so I will use Canfield again next time I stay in Dbq. [I've stayed in Hiltons & Hyatt's that have also had 'things' break down. What's important is how staff responds!]
It was a wonderful location for sure! Check
In was
Ridiculous! The guy made us show the receipt
From
Expedia and asked how much we paid and then told us if itâs not the right amount the girl tomorrow can tell us .
You get what you pay for⊠Room itself was big and ok for comfort⊠I was a bit chilled and asked where the heat controls were in the room⊠There is none! Only one downstairs for the whole building⊠No shower curtain! It is some sort of plastic rolling whatever it sticks out into the shower giving you less room. Bath towels were 1980s size so I thought I would use two of them, there was only one!
