Toast Lettings | Kirkwood Drive - perfect for people visiting/ working in Durham
Kirkwood Drive is a spacious 5 bedroom townhouse located on Nevilles Cross, around 15 minutes walk from Durham City Centre.
Internally accommodation is spread over 3 floors. There is entrance hall with ground floor shower and two double bedrooms, one with a backdoor leading to the back garden. To the first floor is the kitchen with fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher as well as the dining room, a toilet and the lounge which has Sky Tv including Sky Sports. To the second floor is the master bedroom with walk in dressing area and ensuite shower room. There is a second bedroom with single bed and doorway through to the bathroom and 3rd bedroom with a small double bed. The bathroom can also be accessed via the hallway. To the front of the property is driveway leading to single garage providing ample parking. This property is great access for those using the A167, and only 15 minutes walk down to the city or the Science Site of the University.
Very good location with parking and easy access to city centre, cathedral etc. Quiet street. Instructions for heating outdated (thermostat is in 1st floor lounge nit ground floor hall), and uneven heating so ground floor rooms cold. Only one door key for 6 adults isn't enough!
Shabby interior although modern house: broken plug chains, no lid on kitchen bin, curtain hooks missing in lounge, frayed cord on iron. No extra bin bags provided, minimal kitchen equipment, some door catches missing. Gave the impression of a converted HMO. Beds comfortable, rooms a good size.
Property was well located for visiting Durham city centre, but guests should be reminded of Durham's steep cobbled streets as they may be an issue for some. Accommodation was comfortable with plenty of seating in the dining and sitting rooms. 1 downstairs bedroom had a rather small double bed and the downstairs bathroom had very limited space for toiletries . It was a shame that some of the pots and pans had seen better days! Once we'd worked out how to control the central heating temperature we were warm and cosy overall, although 1 downstairs radiator appeared to be off throughout our stay. What we most missed was an information pack - info on the house and info on the locale would have been most helpful. We visited for the Lumiere but also ventured out and about so some idea of good places to go would have been helpful.
