We’ve stayed at this property for the past 2–3 years during our road trips. The staff has never been especially friendly, but we didn’t mind since our stays were short and we only needed a place to sleep.
Unfortunately, on our most recent visit, we ran into an issue that left us very disappointed. When booking through Expedia, the listed pet fee was $10. Upon arrival, the hotel charged $20, stating that their “policy had changed.” Despite showing that Expedia still reflected $10, the hotel would not honour the listed price.
While $10 may seem minor, it’s the principle that matters. Guests should be able to trust that the price they see when booking is the price they will pay upon arrival. I was then left chasing down a refund through both Expedia and Wyndham—an unnecessary hassle caused by poor communication and lack of accountability. In the end, Expedia provided me with rewards points, while the hotel did nothing to remedy the situation.
We’ve been repeat customers who thought we had found "our road trip motel", but this experience has made us decide to choose a different one going forward.
