This place was perfect for our girls getaway - we had a snafu the first night and the host responded to us right away and personally saw that it was resolved.
It’s not the most modern of homes, but the cleanliness and comfort more than make up for it! Peaceful and just what we needed for a great visit to the area! We all loved it
Decided to take a spur of the moment trip with friends. House was fairly close to town, roomy enough for the 4 of us. House was clean but could use some updating. Owner was quick to respond to emails.
Winding driveway with limited turn around space can be very challenging especially in the dark. Garage entrance and stairs to living quarters are not ideal. It’s not a bad house but probably would not be on my list of places I would go back to rent again. It was pet friendly and that was the primary reason I chose plus proximity to another house we rented for family with no pets.
We loved this place. I have trouble with steps but made it work. The king bed was very comfortable. Communication with the property manager was excellent. My only suggestion would be to have some dry firewood inside the house. We brought some in from outside but it was so soaked we couldn’t enjoy the fireplace the the first night. It dried out enough we did use it the second night.
This house was so dated. I thought I was staying in a house from 1980. The two sets of stair cases were so steep. You had to really work to get up and down the stairs. The outside deck and railings felt very unstable. There were over 15 mouse traps and poison pellets around the house. I had to pick them up so my dog would not get into to them. The house was cluttered.
This house has great curb appeal and beautiful views both inside and out. We were in town to actually go to several showings as we are considering buying in the Galena Territory. The decor of this house is straight out of the 70’s but everything inside is clean and well maintained. And it’s dog friendly so we were able to bring our mini golden doodle. There is a large deck with beautiful views but the chairs are all in need of a good scrub or power wash. Beware as the carpet runners on the stairs leading up from the garage are loose and a major hazard. The stairs up to the bedrooms are also very steep (the dog got spooked because they are open between the treads.) The bedrooms would benefit from swapping out the light fixture with a fan/light combo. We used the passes to go to the owners club so the kids could swim and hit up the farmers market they have there on Sundays, and went to the Shenandoah Riding Center that is also 5 minutes away and our kids did the lead line rides. We were just here for 24 hours and didn’t shower so can’t comment on water pressure, but the bathrooms were very clean.
