This place is a hidden gem if you keep some tips in mind. 1) When booking, ask for the newer section. We were given a room in the old section that looked out onto a roof with an a/c and other unsightly equipment, which we did not expect for our vacation resort. When we asked about changing rooms, the only other available option was overlooking the parking lot for an additional cost per night. We turned it down. 2) bringing a dog does not guarantee you a room with a walk-out patio. Again, ask in advance. 3) the restaurant does not serve lunch, and there is no microwave in the room. We visited a neighbouring resort for lunch which was lovely. 4) bring water shoes. The beach is a light layer of sand on top of rock. When the rock is exposed it can get very slippery and we actually saw somebody slip and fall. They were fine but it was concerning to witness. 5) even though dogs are permitted, they are not allowed in the restaurant unless they are service dogs. 6) The location on the edge of the water is ideal and the area is great for canoeing / kayaking, etc. It was not very busy which allowed for some peaceful times. The service was very kind, friendly, respectful.

I will get over some of the thing's where this place can make an improvement such as housekeeping. The fridge was really dirty. I did call the front desk about it. One of the curtains was ripped. The iron was leaking water, and the exhaust fan in the washroom was making too noise, but front desk was notified about everything because the overall experience at this place was great. I did not mind staying at this place. The place and surrounding area is serene, quiet and beautiful Lakeview with a lot of activities for the kids. They have the pool and spa. A lot could be done and a lot of options for hiking, walking boating, canoeing, and boat paddling. The restaurant also has good food although they might want to add some flavour like salt(again food was cooked to perfection) I ordered Pickerel dish and kids had fish and chips that was so so good and burger… food tastes amazing. all things aside I will still recommend this place and I will def. give thus place another chance.

DO NOt STAY HERE .This was by far the most disappointing hotel experience I have ever had. We showed up at the hotel excited although concerned when we pulled up and they had ripped curtains in some of the main rooms of what looked to be the better side of the hotel. We checked in and paid for our room by the most amazing young ladies. We went to our room to find a tiny room that smelled like bleach so strong our eyes burned.,which was strange as there was still dust everywhere including the glasses and bed. We had to open the windows to be able to breathe. . I went to ask about another room and was offered an upgrade at a higher cost. Ultimately we lost confidence when we were offered the ripped curtin side. We decided not to stay and drive back 3.5hrs home instead. We asked for a refund and because booked through Expedia were told to contact them. I did and was told they had to contact the property. They did and It was agreed upon for a full refund. They later changed thier mind at the property and declined it. Beyond frustrated..

Fantastic staff. If you needed anything, someone was right there with it. Rooms were clean, fluffy robes, beach towels, all water crafts always ready. Planned on one night, then two and wanted more. Wi fi was great. Definitely a do again.

We had an amazing time staying here. The room was very clean, staff was nice, and so many activities available! The only thing we didn't like was the pool and the pool staff. When we checked in, we were told that the pool was available. So we changed our outfits and headed to the pool. It was dark with no lights, and the staff started cleaning the pool after seeing us. Then after some of us started hanging out in the pool, they told us "Oh, we're cleaning the pool, you can come back in 30 mins". Our bodies were already wet but fine, we left the pool and came back after an hour. The pool was still closed, and they said they'll need another hour to clean the pool. I showed my dissatisfaction as we were told only to wait 30 mins, however they didn't apologize at all. They only said it was for our safety. After some time the front desk called us and told us that the pool was finally ready. First of all, they should have told us that the pool was under the cleaning process before we started hanging out there. We would have understood and come at a different time. Or the pool maintenance should occur in night or before they open the pool in the morning. I do not understand why they needed to do it AFTER they saw us and started being in the water... or at least they should have apologized to us, their attitude made me unsatisfied. Anyways, that was the only disappointment. All other staff were so kind and nice to us. The hotel was clean and beautiful, good for price.

Love Port Severn

Love this place!! It is our second time back Beautiful property But!!! Our room should be made into a storage closet. And if you don't like toilet paper that is made out of newspaper (bring your own) Also!!! The hot tub is still not working (Jets) Other than that, the property makes up for it all We will be back, I now know to call ahead and make sure I never get room 207 ever again.

We enjoyed being able to use the kayaks for free. The room was a little run down, but that didn’t interfere with our stay.
